Today we're thrilled to feature a sweet vow renewal, captured by Heidi Lau Photography, in which we catch a small glimpse of "after the wedding". Lauren and Matt have already had their wedding day, but they're just as in love, and even more than that day. The organic and natural styling by Big Love Wedding Design & Styling Shop feels authentic to the simple, yet big love that Lauren and Matt share.... From film photographer Heidi Lau: "Love like most things change over time and what we originally thought we loved eventually evolves and becomes something different over time. All the things that we thought used to matter, don't as much anymore and we value things that we didn't see before. This is what inspired this vow renewal shoot, we wanted it to reflect our couple's life and love together after being married over 9 years. Unlike the beginning of their relationship when their love was exciting and fresh, now it was sweet and nurtured for many years. They valued the little things about each other, the familiarity and comfort of being around each other. We focused on keeping the vow renewal simple, intimate and authentic, so it was really about them and how far their love has brought them. It needed to feel genuine and casual, which is where we brought in the standing ceremony and family style for the celebration after. Heidi Lau Photography From the bride: "We met distantly for the first time when I (Lauren) was about 13 and Matt was 18 and in the same grade as my older sister at our high school. But we didn't really connect until much later after I had graduated when we reconnected through mutual friends (small world). It was cute because we both remembered each other from years ago and noticed each other even as kids. We became friends for awhile and then quickly became more. It was so nice to be apart of the renewal shoot because we got married so young (I was 21 and Matt was 26) and I feel like now we are just so much more confident and comfortable with ourselves and each other. We only had a family friend do our photos from the day and always wished we had more professional ones to give to our friends and family to remember the day. Matt and I really felt like the renewal day was redeeming and truly the whole team made us feel so special. We were married on the Friday evening of August 4th, 2006 at an old historic beautiful bank converted into a venue space on Main Street in Winnipeg, Canada. Also my flowers arrived at the venue the day before the wedding in bunches of each variety, un-arranged. Which was not at all what I was expecting needless to say. So my family and I frantically went around trying to put them together nicely! Maybe thats what sparked my love of flowers, who knows (Lauren, now works at one of Toronto's best floral design studios, Sweet Woodruff)!" wedding sparrow - headpiece - vow renewal
