Gorgeous rainy fall wedding in the mountains of North Carolina
Worried about rain on your wedding day? Don't be! Katie and Nick certainly didn't let it dampen their spirits when they wed in the serene rain-filled mountains of Asheville, North Carolina on a crisp October day. You can really feel the love, laughter and warmth in this real wedding, which is full of stylish details created by Taylor Dawn and captured by Georgia-based fine art photographer Jessica Gold.
After postponing their July 2020 nuptials because of the nationwide pandemic, Katie and Nick hosted their closest friends and family in a small cocktail reception at The Ridge surrounded by fall foliage and warm, inviting tones. Little did they know that a hurricane would bring torrent rains through the south east that very weekend! Despite the misty mountain morning, the couple decided they would not put off their wedding day any longer.
They shared a dreamy private vow-reading and despite the weather, they stood in the rain for their mountain-side ceremony and pledged their forever. As guests made their way to the cocktail reception, they each found a personalized thank you note from the bride and groom, before witnessing the happy couple pour a champagne tower together.
The florals from Flourish Flower Farm added warmth and colour to the celebration, with roses, dahlia, ranunculus and amaranthus is tones of nude, caramel and burnt orange. The tones beautifully complimented the champagne bridesmaids' gowns and groom's mauve suit. Why don't more guys where mauve? It looks so chic on Nick! Bride Katie looks effortlessly elegant and relaxed in her strapless ivory Leanne Marshall gown, and her sparkling smile shines through all the rain.
