A snow-covered path in Courchevel, a New Year's Eve proposal, and a wedding in Provence that reflected AJ's French roots. This is a story that begins with two people who met through mutual friends in 2019, only to find themselves living in different countries not long after. Rather than letting distance define them, they built a relationship around presence, choosing to show up for one another across borders, time zones and every opportunity to be together. Travel became part of their story, with new destinations, memorable meals and time spent with the people they love most shaping the years that followed.

It felt only natural that their engagement would take place somewhere they had already come to love. On New Year's Eve 2024, AJ proposed on a quiet, tree-lined path in Courchevel that the couple had discovered together the year before, transformed by fresh snow and the stillness of winter. There was nothing elaborate about it, only a proposal that felt intimate and entirely their own. They spent the rest of the day celebrating with her sister Lily and brother-in-law Will before welcoming the New Year together, the perfect beginning to the next chapter of their lives.

When it came to planning their wedding, the couple wanted the day to feel relaxed and considered, with space to spend meaningful time with the people they love. Provence offered exactly that. Beyond its golden light and lavender fields, the region held particular significance through AJ's French heritage, making it a place that already felt woven into their story.

Château de Tourreau sealed it. From the moment they first visited, the couple knew they had found their venue. Elegant yet inviting, it provided a beautiful setting for a celebration that felt both personal and effortless. Its lawns, sculpted hedging and cypress trees inspired a palette of green and ivory, chosen to complement the landscape rather than compete with it. Vows were exchanged beside the fountain, while sage green tableware and florals of roses, hydrangeas, Queen Anne's lace and lisianthus carried the palette from ceremony through to dinner. A combination of curved and round tables echoed the symmetry of the gardens, creating a layout that was especially striking from above.

The bride's wardrobe unfolded with the same quiet sense of intention. She began the day in an Enzoani gown with floral appliqué across the bodice, overskirt and tulle veil before removing the overskirt for the reception. Later, she changed into an embellished Millanova mini dress, its delicate floral detailing offering a subtle thread of continuity between each look. Around her, bridesmaids wore chartreuse, with the maid of honour in emerald green bringing richness to the garden setting, while the groom and his groomsmen opted for classic black tie.

Surrounded by the family and friends who had been part of their story from the beginning, the couple celebrated the start of married life exactly as they had imagined: together, unhurried and fully present. Fireworks brought the evening to a close, a joyful finale to a day centred on the people and place that meant the most to them.
