Spring Forest Wedding inspiration shoot

I'm so excited to feature this shoot today. When starting to build the Wedding Sparrow site I decided I wanted to put together and style a bridal shoot that I could use the images from on the site itself. I hunted down the best of the best and begged them to be involved. I was lucky enough that everyone I worked with was so talented and passionate about what they did this shoot is even more than I dreamed it would be. It was a huge amount of fun to do and I got to meet some amazing people along the way.
This shoot was inspired by bringing the indoors, outdoors. I wanted to feature furniture and have it almost a part of the scenery. I wanted a spring feel to it too but not in a delicate pastel sense - I needed colours to pop out from the backdrop of the forest we were shooting in. And then there were the dresses - all amazing Claire Pettibone wedding dresses from the new An Earthly Paradise collection 2013 and one classic Claire Pettibone wedding dress - 'Flora' from the Spirit of the Night Collection.

Styling ~ Wedding Sparrow The most important part to the shoot for me was getting the photography right. Naturally it needed to be fine art and shot on film. I wanted ethereal and softness to balance out the bright colours and vast backdrop. I was lucky enough to have the talented Aneta Mak on board who was amazing on the day despite battling a terrible cold! I cannot recommend Aneta enough - her work is truly beautiful - I'm currently trying to get Mr Sparrow onto the idea of anniversary shoot just so Aneta can shoot us! Photography ~ Aneta Mak

Styling ~ Wedding Sparrow Once the photographer was booked, the vendor that would truly make this shoot amazing is the florist. Amy from Bo Boutique Flowers is truly one talented lady. Not only is she the nicest person ever but has so much passion for what she does. She thinks outside the box and makes what is in your head come to life. And our top tip from Amy for this season? Moss table runners... You need one in your life... Photography ~ Aneta Mak

Styling ~ Wedding Sparrow Our amazing stationery was hand drawn by the wonderful Sally from La Happy. I've been a huge fan of Sally's calligraphy and design for some time now so I contacted her in the hope she could provide something bespoke for the shoot. I want the calligraphy to speak for itself and not be distracted by any other details on there so went for pure and simple calligraphy. I love it. Surrounded by all the other details in the shoot such as the florals and tablescape, it just fits right in. Photography ~ Aneta Mak

Styling ~ Wedding Sparrow Our yummy cake was provided by Louisa from Lulubelles Cakes. I wanted a plain white cake with real texture to it. Much like our wedding cake actually which was plain white with rough royal icing covering it. It seems I have a certain taste in wedding cakes! Photography ~ Aneta Mak

Styling ~ Wedding Sparrow A huge thanks to all that made this shoot possible. Despite the freezing cold weather on the day, we struggled through to create something I'm proud of. A massive shout out to our model Ellis who despite wearing next to nothing the whole day in two degrees never complained once. We had blanket holders on hand so she didn't freeze but I can't imagine how hard it must've been to create these amazing images when she was so cold! I'm so excited to hear what you all think of the shoot and I really hope you brides-to-be can take some inspiration from it. Take time to check out the amazing vendors who joined this shoot - their talent is second to none! Until the next shoot.... Vendor details: Photography: Aneta Mak // Floral design and styling: Bo Boutique // Styling and coordination: Wedding Sparrow // Dresses: Claire Pettibone courtesy of Exquisite Bridal Couture // Hair and Make Up: Deborah Bennett // Cake: Lulubelles Cakes // Table, chairs and church pew: Sweet Dream Events // All other props: Wedding Sparrow // Stationery: La Happy // Model: Ellis Marples // Sourcing: Toast Event Design
