An Elegant Palazzo La Marmora Wedding in Piedmont, Italy
Alexandra and Jacopo’s wedding at Palazzo La Marmora in Piedmont brought together the elegance of a historic Italian residence, an expressive approach to bridal fashion, and a celebration of family and cultural heritage. Photographed by Fine Art Curation members Nadia and Marco of LovingPics Studio, the wedding combined editorial elegance with the relaxed feel of a family gathering.
Based in Italy, Nadia and Marco photograph destination weddings for couples from around the world. Their work brings together documentary observation and an editorial understanding of light, composition, architecture, and form.
Working with both digital and film photography, they choose their tools with intention, allowing the character of each celebration to guide their approach. Film holds a particular place in their practice, especially when a wedding’s narrative and visual identity lend themselves to its distinctive character.
Alexandra and Jacopo’s celebration reflects this philosophy beautifully. Located in Biella’s historic Piazzo district, Palazzo La Marmora provided a setting rich in character and steeped in eight centuries of history. The incredible architecture and extensive gardens formed the backdrop to the day. With so much to admire in their surroundings, Alexandra and Jacopo chose to forgo elaborate styling and instead allowed the venue to speak for itself.
The ceremony took place outdoors in the ancient gardens, where Alexandra and Jacopo exchanged vows in front of their family and friends. As the day progressed from the ceremony to cocktail hour, music came to the forefront of the celebrations, with guests receiving tambourines to join in the festivities.
Another distinctive part of the residence is the Ninfeo, a recently renovated space that offered a different setting for the couple’s portraits. Throughout the day, LovingPics Studio moved between carefully composed portraits and more spontaneous moments, capturing both the visual character of the venue and the atmosphere of the celebration.
For dinner, the guests sat among the climbing ivy in the dining room, which softened the space and created an almost fairytale-like atmosphere. An understated tablescape complemented the surroundings, with greenery introducing texture and warmth. Rather than compete against the space, the styling worked with what was already there, ensuring harmony and keeping the focus on what mattered most: sharing moments with those held so dear.
Fashion played a central role in Alexandra’s wedding-day style. Her two main bridal looks brought different expressions to the celebration, with the second standing out for its distinctive cap veil. Unexpected and full of personality, the accessory offered a fresh interpretation of bridal styling. Against the palazzo’s historic interiors, its contemporary character felt particularly striking, allowing Alexandra’s personal style to become a defining element of the imagery. The contrast between the two looks also gave the photographs a sense of progression, introducing a change in mood without losing the coherence of the overall story. It was an individual approach to bridal fashion that felt considered rather than conventional.
Beyond the setting and styling, Alexandra and Jacopo’s wedding reflected the importance of family and cultural identity. Alexandra’s Romanian roots came into focus through a performance by dancers with a Balkan-inspired repertoire, whose choreographed routine brought rhythm, movement, and collective excitement to the celebration. The performance introduced a lively shift in atmosphere, drawing guests into a shared moment of celebration. It was a vivid expression of the cultural influences that helped make the wedding personal to the couple, adding another dimension to a day that moved effortlessly between elegance and exuberance.
At Palazzo La Marmora, Alexandra and Jacopo brought together historic surroundings, individual style, and family tradition to create a celebration that felt unmistakably their own.
