A Heartfelt Provence Wedding at La Bastide de Laurence
When we first opened this gallery, we were immediately drawn to the beautiful interplay of light and movement throughout Annika and Nicky's wedding in the South of France. Sunlight filters through the photographs, illuminating fleeting moments of laughter, embraces and celebration. The result is a collection that feels both romantic and full of life, capturing the warmth of a wedding shared by two families with a long history together. Annika and Nicky's story began at school, and their lives have grown alongside one another ever since. Over the years, their families have become closely connected, making the wedding feel more like a gathering of old friends and family than a formal occasion. Set in a beautiful garden, the celebration had a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, shaped as much by the setting as by the easy familiarity between guests. One particularly lovely detail was Nicky's grandfather officiating the ceremony. Having known Annika since she was a little girl, he was the perfect person to lead them through their vows, bringing generations of shared memories into the moment.
The photography was entrusted to Maelys Izzo, whose work captures the character of the day with a thoughtful eye for light, composition and movement. There is a softness to the imagery, with sun-drenched scenes and beautifully observed details, but nothing feels overly styled or removed from the reality of the celebration. From the energy of the guests to the quieter exchanges between family members, the photographs reflect a day that unfolded naturally, with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy themselves.
Annika brought her own distinctive style to the occasion, wearing a stunning gown by New York designer Corban Harper. With its striking design, the dress made an impact without feeling at odds with the relaxed nature of the day. Annika's confident approach to dressing meant she could make a statement while still feeling entirely at ease, free to embrace every part of the celebration.

Annika and Nicky's wedding is a lovely example of how a celebration can feel considered and visually striking without losing its sense of ease. Beautiful photography, a memorable gown and a garden setting all played their part, but it was the history between the families and the genuine enjoyment of being together that gave the day its character.
