Elegant black tie wedding in the mountains of East Tennessee
Nestled deep within the Appalachian Mountains in East Tennessee are the most breathtaking views and gorgeous venues. When Arti and Aspasia got engaged they knew they wanted a wedding full of scenery that their guests wouldn’t get to experience at home, so they chose a destination wedding in this special party of the country.
The couple wanted a wedding weekend full of their closest family and friends to create incredible stories to tell for years to come. With guests traveling from all over the United States, Europe and Armenia, they picked Sugar Hollow Retreat for its unrivalled views of the mountains and space to accommodate everyone.
Aspasia chose a dramatic Galia Lahav wedding gown and instantly knew it was the one. The shoes, on the other hand, took months to decide on. Aspasia eventually found a pair of Christian Louboutins that matched the traditional Armenian wedding gown she donned for the reception, which was a complete surprise for Arti.
There was another surprise in store for Arti, explains fine art wedding photographer, Danielle Defayette, who captured their big day: "Arti immigrated to the United States from Armenia as a boy with his parents and grandmother. Before the wedding, his father, brother (and best man), along with the other groomsmen got together several times in secret to practice a traditional Armenian dance. After the first dances ended, the men danced into the reception to the beat of drum decked out in all Armenian attire to surprise the couple!"
