Echoes of Eire: A Return To Creativity, Four Day Retreat Ireland 2027
It has been a long time since we attended a workshop at Wedding Sparrow. So when the opportunity came to be part of one again with the incredible Taylor Olivares of Travelling Weddings with Taylor, we knew it needed to feel different. Something deeply connected to who we are, what we believe in, and what we feel the wedding industry needs right now.
This retreat in Ireland immediately felt like that. Because the experience isn’t only about the artistry. It’s about the artist, too. We believe the two cannot truly be separated.
The wedding industry moves quickly. There’s always another gallery to deliver, another inquiry to answer, another platform to understand, another trend to keep up with. Somewhere among all of that, it can become surprisingly easy to lose touch with the very thing that brought us here in the first place: creativity.
And now, in the era of AI, we believe protecting and prioritizing that creativity matters more than ever.
Not creativity that demands more from us or comes at the cost of exhaustion, but creativity that is sustainable. Creativity that gives something back, and that allows us to make meaningful work while still having enough of ourselves left to live our lives.
That is at the heart of this retreat.
Taylor Olivares and Cassandra Lorien of Crescent Bound Events have thoughtfully created an experience that looks beyond simply making better photographs. Of course, there will be conversations around imagery, and opportunities to create, shoot, storyboard, edit, and explore what makes photographs feel timeless rather than simply current. But the retreat will also ask bigger questions:
Who are you as an artist? What do you want your work to say? What kind of business allows you to keep making that work? And how do you build a creative life that doesn’t leave you burned out?
For three nights, surrounded by the extraordinary landscapes of Ireland, we’ll step away from the constant demands of the industry and give ourselves space to consider those questions.
This isn’t simply a three-night workshop, either. The experience begins four weeks before arrival and continues for two weeks after returning home. Through Zoom masterminds, storyboarding sessions, and editing workshops, you’ll begin connecting and creating together before we ever meet in Ireland. By the time you arrive, you won’t be walking into a room of strangers. You’ll be arriving among friends, collaborators, and fellow creatives who already understand something of your work and your ambitions.
Alongside the creative sessions, there will be space for honest conversations about the realities of this industry. We’ll talk about creative burnout and how to find our way back from it, how to build a brand that attracts aligned clients, how to navigate social media in 2027 without allowing it to consume your creative energy, and how to create a profitable, sustainable business. We’ll also look at how to continue evolving without feeling like you constantly need to reinvent yourself.
We’re especially excited to be part of an intimate group of artists, alongside other booked-and-busy industry leaders. The goal isn’t to give you another list of rules to follow. It’s to have real conversations about what we’re seeing, what’s working, what’s changing, and what we believe is worth paying attention to.
You’ll leave with stronger images, of course. But we hope you leave with much more: a renewed relationship with your creativity, a clearer sense of your artistic voice, practical tools for your business, fresh perspective, and meaningful relationships with people who understand the particular joys and challenges of building a career around documenting love.
There is something powerful about stepping away from your usual surroundings and entering a place that feels entirely different. Ireland, with its ancient landscapes, wild beauty, and sense of history, feels like the perfect place to do that.
To slow down. To look again. To make something with intention.
The wedding industry will continue to change, algorithms constantly change, platforms will change, trends will change and even the way couples discover you will change, but the reason you do this remains.
You are entrusted with documenting one of the most meaningful days in a couple’s life. You’re not simply creating content.
You are a storyteller.
We believe returning to the essence of that work, to curiosity, observation, beauty, connection, and meaning, is more important now than ever.
This retreat is an invitation to return to that place. To nurture the artist, not just the artistry. To reconnect with creativity in a way that can actually last. And to discover what becomes possible when we give ourselves permission to step away from the noise.
