“Celebrating Beauty in Como” The inspiration for this editorial stems from the desire of stylist Camilla Cascino and designer Silvia Valli to play creatively without being constrained by the stereotypes of the wedding industry. Thanks to her in-depth knowledge of the history of fashion and an impeccable taste forged at Teatro La Scala, Silvia Valli expresses her vision with a language that goes through the ways of haute couture, creating bridal dresses that are unique pieces, made with the most precious fabrics of the Como silk industry. Photographer Fabrizio Viganò brings life to atmospheres ranging from the austerity of high fashion to more romantic, dreamlike reminiscences.

From Silvia Valli: “The first dress is a two-piece piece that consists of a skirt made with a classic bride’s fabric: the pure silk taffeta in a light ivory color. A timeless fabric, characterized by the typical folds that reflect light and give crunchiness to the movement. The bodice, made with a fabric produced in Como by the Chanel-woven Ratti Fabrics, characterized by a tone-on-tone tape in the colors of natural silk and a shiny thread that gives brightness, reminiscent of a woven wicker basket.“

Silvia Valli wanted to play and experiment on this precious base by applying roses in rebrodé lace, to which were added feathers and small blooms of stabilized hydrangea that we also find in the bouquet made by Chiara Sperti. The slight mermaid line with a slightly hinted tail and the bodice with a classic structure that emphasizes the waist and rests on the hips create a sculptural image.

More romantic and dreamy is the second dress, made with a superimposition of soft micro tulle, it has been designed to emphasize the graceful movement of the figure. The skirt mounted on a belt is made in crepe, and pure silk satin doubled with a French Chantilly lace. The same lace was used to decorate the shoulder pads of the vest. The final touch on this dress is a soft cloud of tulle.

The bright, very refined makeup and the soft natural hair styling were created by Lina Pagano, to enhancing the elegance of the model. Sophisticated accessories by Nea Milano have been selected to give a touch of modern but timeless romanticism to our glamorous bride. The beautiful engagement ring created by the My Golden Age goldsmith laboratory uses a spectacular intense green watercolor sapphire that recalls the waters of the nearby Lake Como.

The floral arrangement designed by Chiara Sperti is inspired by the idea of bringing nature inside beautiful Villa del Grumello. The installation created on the monumental fireplace makes us breathe a bucolic air and lets the garden surrounding the villa, Lake Como on which it overlooks and the architecture itself seamless blend together.

The whole project is a succession of experiments and mingling between the various elements: nature, art, fashion, craftsmanship, all aimed at exalting the grand tradition of Made in Italy. Even the elements most closely related to a wedding reception such as the mise en place, were inspired by the decorations and frescoes on the Villa’s ceilings. Soft and elegant colors, reminiscent of the color of the lake on a winter day, for the tablecloth and napkins made by Allegoria. Delicate and ethereal flowers like small butterflies, crystals, and cutlery with sober touches of gold.

The white wedding cake made by Qualcosa di Dolce has refined decorations inspired by the stuccoes of the Villa, enhanced by a soft tobacco-colored table runner made by Allegoria with pure Como silk.
