Perched above Elliott Bay with views stretching toward the Seattle skyline, The Admiral’s House provided the setting for an editorial inspired by old-school Americana, classic East Coast style and the effortless polish of Ralph Lauren. Designed by Alyssa of Elle and James Co. and photographed by Fine Art Curation photograper Jacqueline Benét Photography, the shoot imagined an intimate wedding centered around the ease and atmosphere of a family gathering.

The visual references were deliberately nostalgic: the timeless style of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr., the tailored sensibility of Ralph Lauren and the inviting interiors of Nancy Meyers films such as Father of the Bride and The Parent Trap. Rather than creating a wedding that felt overly formal, the design leaned into the warmth of an elegant family estate and the feeling of a long, leisurely dinner at home.

The day began without a tightly packed schedule, with the couple’s morning designed around having time together before the celebrations begin, coffee, conversation and a quiet start to the day within relaxed setting of home. It offered time together before the ceremony without giving away the moment when Claire would appear at the end of the aisle.

For the bridal looks Claire wore a structured, pleated Elie Saab gown, its architectural details providing one of the key design references for the celebrations paired with Bella Belle shoes completing the ceremony look. Later in the evening, she changed into a playful Ines Di Santo party dress with a ruffled hem, paired with Gucci heels. The second look shifted the mood from polished ceremony style to something lighter and made for the reception.

The overall design imagined what an elevated family dinner party might look like at a historic Seattle estate: classic furnishings, tactile textiles, natural florals and carefully considered details, all balanced against the expansive landscape surrounding the house.

For the florals, lush natural arrangements complemented the historic character of The Admiral’s House. At the ceremony, flowers framed an arch positioned at the end of a winding aisle, creating a focal point without competing with the setting and views beyond. The reception continued the organic floral approach across tables layered with linens, mixed textiles and metallic details. Pleated lamps appeared throughout the tablescape as a subtle nod to the pleating of Claire’s Elie Saab gown.

The cake followed the same visual language, with a custom design inspired by the texture and sculptural form of the gown, carrying the fashion reference from the bride’s wardrobe into the reception details.

With its combination of Americana references, fashion-inspired details,This editorial offers a particularly elegant take on the estate wedding: less country-house formality, more beautifully appointed family home; less spectacle, more attention to texture, silhouette and the rituals of gathering around a table.
