Paris Elopement Inspired by Rodin
We're whisking you away to the most romantic city in the world today, Paris. And before you do a little dance of excitement like us, be prepared to scroll through these Parisian details with a heart for all things Rodin. Photographer Jennifer Hodder Photography dreamt of creating something in Paris with the sculptor Rodin in mind and we adore how timeless art can influence your wedding style. We talk often how your wedding shouldn't be a theme or a trend, but based around something you love or are drawn to, or inspired by. Whatever inspires you, draw on that with your stylist or planner and work outwards towards a cohesive and timeless design...
From photographer, Jennifer Hodder Photography: "I have always dreamt of doing a wedding shoot in Paris since the first time I ever set eyes on the city of love. After many years of planning later, I finally returned to do this romantic blush Parisian elopement at Le Musee Rodin.
I went to the antique market in Paris to acquire a few authentic items for styling this shoot. It was extremely hard not to purchase everything in sight! I ended up going with a vintage gold cameo brooch because it looked like something that might have been passed down and I wanted to give it the opportunity to continue its story. I also picked up a few stamps for the beautiful handmade stationary.
The high necked gown, with lace topper was handmade by a Canadian designer and the shoes were the “Filipa” nude jewel toe shoe from Bella Belle. The talented artist at “Lia Terni” hand crafted the sustainable metal crown to finish off the brides ethereal look.
I didn’t want to do something as formal as a large cake and Paris is known for all of their amazing individualized cakes, pastries and confections, so I opted for the Bride & Grooms favorites. A fresh raspberry macaron and an almond layered swirl.
I was inspired by the artist Rodin’s sculptures and worked similar posed into the shoot. From having the groom guard “The Gates of Hell” to contemplate with “The Thinker” himself, I incorporated as much old world aesthetic as I possibly could."
