Get business efficient with the Maroo wedding payment platform
You love the creative side of working in the wedding industry, but the financial admin side? Not so much. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone! Managing clients and their payments can be a real headache, especially during busy wedding season when you’re working around the clock to give your couples a fantastic service and don’t have the time nor energy to chase money owed to you.
Enter Maroo - a free wedding payment platform that’s easy, fast and tailored to the wedding industry. Co-founded by Anja Winikka, former editor of The Knot, and Alexey Nikityuk of Revolut, Maroo truly understands the challenges faced by wedding vendors and designed the platform to streamline the wedding payment process. Let’s find out more…
How does the Maroo wedding payment platform work?
Any wedding business with a US bank account can open a free Maroo account to safely and securely request payments from couples and businesses. When requesting a payment, you as a wedding professional decide the payment method options you want your clients to have. Maroo offers free transfers on all ACH and debit cards. Payments on a credit card are a flat 2.9%. And, in all states with the exception of Connecticut and Massachusetts, the credit card processing fee can be passed along!
Once you’ve set up your payment request, you can either have Maroo email the payment request directly to the client or use the unique Maroo invoice link to add to your preferred CRM template. You can also use that link to share the payment request with a wedding planner or add it straight into a contract or PDF proposal.
On the client side, they can pay as a guest in minutes or sign up for their own Maroo account to keep track of their upcoming event payments in one place. Payments process within one business day without any daily limits.
How is Maroo different to payment apps like Venmo, Zelle, etc?
Maroo is as easy to use as any payment app (like Venmo and Zelle), yet completely tailored to the wedding industry. The wedding payment platform offers multiple features to help keep wedding businesses moving as efficiently as possible in all areas of payments, while giving your couples the professionalism they expect.
All transactions are tracked and organized in one searchable dashboard and you can seamlessly integrate your account with Quickbooks Online. You can sync, set, and track upcoming payments without any daily transaction limits. There are other options such as autopay and the Book Now, Pay Later option for clients, that comes with the reassurance of event cancellation insurance.
How do clients Pay over Time?
Maroo is the first company in the wedding industry to offer a Book Now, Pay Later payment option. This payment method allows wedding businesses to offer their clients the opportunity to split up their invoices and pay for them over a period of 3-12 months without interest. At the same time the couple pays their first month, Maroo sends the total invoice amount to the wedding business owner––all within one business day. Wedding cancellation insurance is included to protect from chargebacks.
Maroo charges wedding professionals a flat fee for the option to offer the Pay Over Time feature. The fee structure is as follows
- 3 months: 5% fee
- 6 months: 7% fee
- 12 months: 10% fee
Wedding businesses that offer Book Now, Pay Later are finding their sales conversions and average sales amount increase, more time to run their businesses (as Maroo handles all payments as the business is paid the full contract amount within one business day) and peace of mind with inclusive event cancellation insurance.
Is Maroo as good as it sounds?
“Maroo has completely transformed my invoicing process and it’s a total game-changer for my business! From automated invoices, low or no processing fees, a user-friendly app, to payments that process in only 1 business day, Maroo has everything I want and need to help my business run efficiently from start to finish with every client.” - Jacquelyn Mavrookas of The Wedding Plan & Co.
