Ethereal wedding inspiration at Georgian manor house in Virginia
Historical wedding venues are our favourite kind, we just love original features and the feelings of romantic nostalgia that evoke as you move from room to room. Today's ethereal bridal shoot takes place at Salubria, a Georgian-style manor house in Virginia. Shot on a mix of three vintage film cameras in 35mm and medium format, our Virginia wedding photographer and Fine Art Curation member Theresa Kelly has captured a stunning collection of moody images, inspired by the history of the venue and the spirits who may still roam the grounds.
Over to Theresa: "Salubria was built in the 1700s and is still maintained today as a wedding venue in central Virginia. Many of the original details have stayed the same. Ample windows and imperfect paint take us back to days forgotten. The weathered textures inside the home effuse character hearkening back to another time. Aged details, chic florals and an old world toned palette create a nostalgic editorial harkening back to a refined and bygone era."
We adore the elegant styling and rambling floral design by Janna Brown, which conjures the feeling of wayward vines creeping through cracks and growing up the walls inside. The color palette is soft and romantic, with blown out dusky pink roses and trailing white clematis amid lush abundant foliage. Just dreamy!
