Coastal blue wedding inspiration with white orchids
Blue and white weddings are enjoying a real moment. Perhaps it's due to the #coastalgrandmother trend that's all over Tiktok, inspired by the aesthetic of Nancy Meyers movies, or the fact many of us want a timeless wedding look that always feels fresh and chic. Whatever the reason, we're totally here for it and have some gorgeous coastal blue and white wedding inspiration to share with you today, from North Carolina-based Emily March Photography and Kickstand Events.
"The underlying theme behind this shoot was togetherness, and taking time to be in the moment with those you love," explains Sally from Kickstand Events. "After years of feeling apart because of the pandemic, we wanted this shoot to feel like a Southern embrace.
"We portrayed this idea through intentional moments, including a curated bridesmaids brunch picnic with the bride’s best gals to let them celebrate and relax before the afternoon ceremony. Later on, the bride and groom chose a sunset sail to share time together before arriving to their reception under the oaks. How often does a couple get to enjoy each other’s company - just the two of them - to reflect on their wedding day?
"Water and coastal charm were the major themes of the day. We used varying shades of blue, white and natural textures in the design, adding a hint of blush brighten the looks and give the design a feminine, almost garden party touch. We loved mixing natural elements with sophisticated details, an intentional move to make the overall feel of the day polished but casual; much like the vibe of coastal town!"
Courtney from Kickstand Events created a beautiful airy feel for the flowers with simple all-white bouquets. "This works especially well with pattern - allowing the flowers to be an accessory to the bridesmaids, and not overpower their gowns. The bride also had all white orchids, representing elegance and beauty. Bouquets were tied off with a dusty blue chiffon ribbon to add contrast against the white dresses."
