Classic blue and white tented wedding in Georgia
When you begin wedding planning, it helps to start with your non-negotiables. What are your priorities for this special day? For Katie and Paul, it was hosting their wedding in one location: they wanted the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and guest lodging in a single place to create a seamless experience. When they toured the charming Glen Ella Springs Inn in north Georgia, they fell in love with the inn's exclusivity and intimate location.
"From there, their ideas of a tented reception grew," explains their planner Anna from Swanson Signature Events. "Katie dreamed of a stark white sailcloth tent with flags flying in the air, which formed the basis for their entire design. White linens, white china, clear glassware, and clear taper candles holders and shades added to the clean look.
"The only pop of color was blue and Katie selected her favorite vintage blue and white china patterns from Southern Vintage Event Rentals. The mix-matched salad and bread plates added an element of surprise to the dinner seating. We paired the deep blue tones with lighter French blue dinner napkins and taper candles, and creamy, soft floral patterns to give the tent a more romantic feel."
