Classic black and white wedding at Alila Marea Beach Resort, CA
We love a black and white wedding as this simple color palette has such enduring style and is chic at any time of year. Bride Hannah tells us why she chose this classic color combo for their California wedding, which was captured by Fine Art Curation member, Carmen Santorelli Photography: "My focus was for our wedding to look timeless," explains Hannah. "Devin and I have been together for almost 10 years. We greatly appreciate how our relationship has stood the test of time, and a timeless wedding reflects this theme in our relationship.
"Building in sentimental moments was also very important to me. I was able to honor my father and my grandmother who are no longer with us. We used my father’s classic Porsche as the getaway car, made the signature drink about him, and Devin wore a white jacket with black pants like my father did when he married my mother. My mother also made a clip for me to wear in my hair as my 'something old' from an Italian cameo that my grandmother gave her."
The couple enlisted Valentina Weddings & Events to help bring their vision to life. Since the venue - Alila Marea Beach Resort in California - is modern and already decorated beautifully, Hannah and Devin decided to to keep their wedding decor simple to flow with the timeless look. "I tried to choose elements that will not go out of style, such as using neutral colors (lots of white and ivory) and white florals with greenery," adds Hannah. "I also loved the idea of incorporating black to add a bit of classic elegance and having the wedding party wear black to contrast with Devin and I wearing white."
