Marit and Thijs’ Outdoor Wedding in the Netherlands
It isn't too often that we have a real wedding all the way from the lovely Netherlands and we're beyond happy about today's feature! Photographed by CHYMO & MORE, Marit and Thijs' outdoor wedding is fresh, light-hearted, romantic, and warm. We love their minimalistic decor in efforts to focus on what matters most. We also adore Marit's gorgeous Rosa Clara ballgown... swoon...
From CHYMO & MORE: "Marit (bride) & Thijs (groom) got married on a hot summer afternoon in Het Heerenhuys, one of the most romantic mansions in the Netherlands with French-style garden and stunning view. Their family and friends gathered for a romantic and warm celebration.
It all started from their first anniversary. Marit gave Thijs a customized wooden postcard (photographed in the first few photos) as a present, with words in Dutch “today is my dearest day”. Later that day, Thijs gave her the jewelry set (photographed together with the postcard) and asked her to marry him. Instead of a traditional engagement ring, he opted for a set of lovely pearl ring, necklace and bracelet and popped the question. Both of them planned it on their own and Marit certainly didn’t expect such a big surprise ahead of her. Talk about “the dearest day”!
This stylish couple incorporated lots of personal elements in their wedding design, making sure it’s a celebration closest to their heart. For example those doves on the wedding cake were inspired by a wooden dove from Thijs to Marit, now hanging on the engagement necklace on her neck. The overall color palette of the day was wine, red, champaign and off-white. Guests dressed up in these fun colors; Muller’s Floral Art created gorgeous bouquet and flower alter with this color palette.
They had the ceremony outdoor in the garden of Het Heerenhuys, using Het Park and the river as a perfect backdrop. Both fathers of Thijs and Marit had important roles on the day. Father of Marit was the officiant for the civil ceremony and father of Thijs was the paster for the religious ceremony.
Guests were able to enjoy snacks and drinks and share their joy with the couple after the ceremony.
After that we went to the other side of the city for some more photos: THE exact location where Thijs asked Marit to marry him on their first anniversary. They danced at the exact spot where he kneeled before her and shared a quiet moment watching the beautiful sunset. It was so touching to see how love-filled they were being at this place again on their wedding day."

Absolutely beautiful day and couple. Loved their sweet ceremony and hanging florals. Congrats to the happy couple!
What a picturesque wedding to have captured. Looks like a truly beautiful day to have captured, and done so well by the photographers. Photo booths are also a great idea to capture the guests and bridal party interacting on the day - a fantastic way to see genuine, special moments.
