Lavender Inspired Vineyard Real Wedding

Feb 04, 2015 | Weddings

Having visited Texas Hill Country just last year and the very vineyard this beautiful real wedding took place, we know first hand how lush yet rustic this landscape is. We love how this bride chose a more elegant style to offset the rustic nature of the backdrop. It looks just beautiful with the hints of dried lavender and blush tones. A huge thanks to Texas film photographer Taylor Lord for sending these over!

From the bride: "Brian and I dated for almost five years before he proposed so I had lots of time (and 9 bridesmaid gigs!) to figure out what I wanted. Fredericksburg has been a special place for us throughout our relationship, so picking the destination was easy. It didn't hurt that we are both of German descent, a fun nod to our heritage. Becker Vineyards has long been our favorite spot to wine taste and watch the sunset, and touring the Lavender Haus sealed the deal for us. I was born and raised in Texas, but my style is far from Rustic. As I shared my vision with vendors, I kept describing a day reminiscent of the beautiful outdoor dinner party held during Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette at the summer house, and the infamous white tent dinner scene in The Notebook. I also wanted to throw in a few mid-century influences, as I am positively obsessed with that era. I wanted an evening full of Southern Charm and understated elegance. Royal Fig Catering created a seasonal menu for our tasting dinner, for which we paired our favorite Becker Vinyards wines with three delicious courses. The Sperry Tent, draped with festoon lighting, provided the springtime dinner party feel I had envisioned."

"We wanted to make our ceremony unique and personal. My beloved uncle officiated, which was so special for us. For the readings, we chose three couples that are close to us, to give a short reading on their advice for our marriage. The first were newlyweds, the second had been married for four years and have their first child and the third had been married for over forty years. They gave words of wisdom that we will remember and cherish forever. Taylor Lord was one of the first vendors I contacted after looking at almost every image on her blog and website. The light and ethereal quality were exactly how I wanted our special day portrayed."

"I found Mayhar Design after some online research, searching for a Wedding Stylist/Planner. I absolutely fell in love with their aesthetic. It was of paramount importance that my wedding planner make our wedding beautiful and elegant, and they far exceeded my wildest dreams. Melanie at Mayhar was a joy to work with and she made everything look absolutely flawless. Melanie and I worked with Michelle at Sprout Flowers to create a loose, lush floral design. Inspired by the Lavender Fields grown at Becker, and the ethereal beauty of springtime in the South of France ( which goes back to the summer house in Marie Antoinette) we decided on herb and Lavender Bouquets for my house party. Each girl was requested to wear a sparkly dress of her own choosing. I loved the juxtaposition of the Hill Country backdrop against their glamorous attire. Michelle used all my favorite flowers: peonies, garden roses, anemones, ranunculus, orchids and amaryllis to create a lush, elegant look and give our neutral tablescapes color. We also added a mid century touch with potted succulents. Our palette was gold, black, white, blush and peach. A family friend later described our wedding day as the most elegant party she had ever attended. I knew then that we had accomplished exactly what we set out to."

Such a lovely wedding in the natural setting. Love a laconic but elegant design. There are so much light and tenderness captured on these images - very beautiful.
