From the bride: "Russ and I met the spring of 2009, at a restaurant with mutual friends. We never dated or officially even went on a first date, instead we became the best of friends right off the hop, spending most every day together, just being a couple of kids. I never thought I would fall so hard or so fast, but it didn’t take more than two months before friendship turned into more. Every day we get to spend together is my favorite day. One of the first things that drew me in was that award winning grin of his and his HUGE personality and heart. He’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met. It wasn’t too long after that, I remember telling my mom, ‘I’m going to marry him.’ 7 years later, I got my proposal, and finally, husband.

I have always been in love with the idea of a fall outdoor wedding. When it came time to start making decisions, I knew right away it was going to be Cielo’s Garden. The outdoor venue from a little town outside the city limits, boasting all the characteristics of a fairytale. It was perfect. It’s whimsical guided paths through the trees, lit-up with delicate lights, and clear glass ceilings created a starry night fantasy, it was breathtaking.

I had come across Brittany Mahood’s film work in passing but never experienced her first hand that is until my sister’s wedding last September. Her incredible raw talent and eye for detail was everything. Finding a photographer for your day of can be beyond stressful, having witnessed a lot of brides go through this process, I knew exactly what I did and didn’t want. Then I met Brittany, It was love at first sight. I can honestly say, I never fully appreciated the capture of film, until I met her and saw her work. With such passion for what she does, you can’t help being drawn to her profiles, entranced in the details she captures through each frame.

I will never forget the moment we got engaged, one of the first thoughts that popped into my head (after ‘I will’ of course) was ‘I have to call Brittany right now and make sure she can do our wedding, it can’t be anyone else!’ Other than, will you marry me, hearing ‘That’s my last weekend available in 2016, I’m yours,’ was all I needed to complete my ‘I do’ journey. The memories she captured for us on our day, were incomparable, but only half the amazing experience it was working with her."
