The Benefits of Booking Your Photographer and Videographer Together

Jun 30, 2020 | Planning

Your wedding photos and videography are super important - they'll be keepsakes for years to come, serving as the record of laughs, tears, hugs and toasts that will happen throughout your celebration. Here's everything you need to know to book the right pros for the job, but more importantly, booking your video and photography package together!

You probably know to keep photographers on your must-hire list (and rightfully so), but videographers should be a priority too. While your photographer will immortalize much of your wedding day, think of the sounds that can't be captured in a photo (like your vows, the reception music and the toasts). Our Fine Art Curation members Jacob & Pauline are here to guide us through the many benefits of booking both together....

1. THE STYLE & AESTHETIC

Our photos and films are a perfect match, in terms of our fine art style, look, feel and atmosphere. This is often not possible when booking two different companies. Independent photographer and videographer teams will each have their own way of shooting and editing. This can mean couples can be left with distinctly different looking finished products. Ultimately the final film and photographs are to tell the story of your wedding day. If your wedding photographs have a completely different vibe than your wedding video, the story can become a little blurred.

2. EXPERIENCE AS A TEAM

We inspire each other during the wedding day, coming up with ideas together and inspiring each other with our shots and photos. We are used to working together, we are in sync, never in each others way. We’ve been working together for many years. Consequently, we know how best to achieve our clients shared vision.

We both have degrees in Art, Pauline from fashion and commercial photography, Jacob from movie directing. That’s where our most experience and inspiration comes from and makes our work different from others. We’ve been working together on weddings for over 10 years, Pauline had been a wedding photography assistant to her Father since she was 15 years old.

3. DESTINATION WEDDING = COST SAVING

Destination weddings can be much cheaper because couples don’t have to pay two separate companies for their travel expenses. We share accommodation, car rental, insurance, etc and this can result in some great budget savings.

4. EASE OF COMMUNICATION

With all those emails going back and forth between vendors and planning the logistics, having your photography and videography be with one vendor can really take the strain off. One communication, one contract, one package, everything is much simpler. There can be small clashes between different ambitious photographers and videographers during the wedding day with the possibility of affecting your photos and videos.
