Inspired by femininity and natural antique tones found natively in the beautiful venue, today's editorial feels both artistic and heirloom with these lovely photos by Nicole Colwell Photography. Stylist Lily & Sage wanted to match a timeless bridal look with the luxurious surroundings and chose the most incredible Daalarna Couture gown, sourced from Les Trois Soeurs Bridal, with intricate floral embellishments... le swoon! We also felt instantly drawn in to the neutral tones to the lovely bouquet by Bloom Fleuriste with a loosely composed body and pretty greenery to add life...
From stylist Lily & Sage: "This editorial tells the story of a captivating romance in an old-world setting. Inspired by the baroque details and distressed architecture of Turvey House - a remote family owned estate in the heart of the English countryside.
We were passionate about immersing the style of this shoot into the unique location; incorporating elements from within the houses finely decorated rooms. Our palette was inspired by femininity and natural antique tones - gold, orange, blush, olive green, black & cream. Nicole Colwell Photography captured a sense of serenity and calm, through the glowing light that framed our bride.
The textures and details reflect the luxury and untouched feel of the house. Ivy wraps around jewellery and the bride drapes herself in contemplation over the winding staircase. The stunning gilt furniture, hand dyed silk ribbons, sapphire heirloom ring, and hand-made lace created a timeless look.
Nature influenced the brides’ style from her delicately floral gown, to her lingerie - designed and made by Nancy of Lily & Sage. We combined this traditional style with a harder modern edge to keep things chic; using black-netted Kurt Geiger stilettos and embellished Badgley Mischka heels to create a contemporary look. The groom’s style was simple and sophisticated in a Hugo Boss tuxedo. This sense of nature was also behind the stationary, which we worked closely on with Claire Gould Calligraphy. From the delicate leaf design wax seal to the hand-torn edges and olive branch motif, we wanted to create a sense of European luxury and nature.
We wanted the images to evoke touch, taste and scent to create the perfect atmosphere and mood. This is something that we are very passionate about as wedding stylists and planners. We feel that a wedding is an experience of the senses and our styled shoots follow this ethos. Gold leaf figs, berries, pears perfume and the smell of fresh flowers created by the incredibly talented Bloom Fleuriste filled the air.
The couple say their vows with the backdrop of the house - evoking a sense of the past and the present. As they walk through the grounds together and into the rose garden, the intimacy of this moment is captured beautifully through the natural enclosed setting which frames them."
