Monet Lily Pond Inspired Wedding Ideas
If you've been lucky enough to visit some of Monet's art in person, you'll LOVE this ode to Monet’s Lily Ponds. This romantic Spring inspired palette of mauve and lilac is full of Spring and Summer wedding ideas and we're thrilled to revisit one of our fave venues Kestrel Park via the blog thanks to Savan Photography and HauteFetes...
From HauteFetes: "Inspired by Monet’s paintings of his lily ponds in Giverny, our romantic editorial depicts a sweet Spring color palette of mauve, lilac, rose and ivory and is set in the cherry blossom-filled gardens of Kestrel Park, all beautifully captured by Savan Photography."
"Taking cues from the European architecture and grounds of the property, for this shoot we imagined a garden full of flowers. While the flowers and trees weren’t quite yet in bloom, we worked with the few cherry blossom trees that were to create an intimate garden-like feel echoed by a lush bouquet and table arrangements full of seasonal florals including pastel-colored lilacs, wisteria, parrot tulips, sweet peas, anemones, garden roses and hellebore, expertly composed by Pineapple Petals Studio.
Our editorial tells the story of our bride getting ready, gazing wistfully out the window at the ceremony and reception below. We love how Beauty by Stacey played up the bride’s natural gracefulness with a soft face and romantic updo with gently escaping tendrils. Wearing an exquisite Ines di Santo dress, our bride joins her groom dressed in a European-inspired white jacket tuxedo ensemble by Friar Tux under a bough of white blossom. The couple’s light-filled first look is followed by an intimate poolside ceremony that we kept deliberately unembellished so as to not detract from the magnificent Santa Barbara hillside in the background. Reflections in the pool echo our lily pond inspiration."
"This perfect Spring wedding day is capped off with a romantic sunset dinner in the garden, an understated but elegant table set with a creamy beige velvet and mauve napkins by La Tavola Linens, gold-rimmed china and etched gold flatware by
Cherished Rentals, French imported chairs from Sweet Salvage Rentals and delicate details including vintage porcelain salt and pepper pots and
ribbon tied place names."
"An exquisite stationery suite by Kelsey Malie Calligraphy is literally a work of art, with replicas of Monet’s lily ponds delicately hand painted on the invitation, belly band, and envelope liner, and flourishes of hand calligraphed script in gold ink.
It’s a dreamy and fresh take on Spring as seen in the brush strokes of Monet’s most beloved paintings, an ode to the painter’s carefree take on his gardens. Just as the painter married flowers according to their color and left them to grow freely in his gardens, we, too, married design with color, leaving our love story to evolve naturally and organically around that."
