Mediterranean-inspired wedding at the Bel-Air bay club in LA
We're here for the taste of the Med at this gorgeous real wedding at the Bel-Air Bay Club, overlooking Los Angeles bay with a backdrop of swaying palms and lapping waves. Swoon! Fine art wedding photographer Bonphotage captured Mallory and Dave's elegant LA wedding as they shared their vows and celebrated with loved ones in this stunning setting.
"We wanted people to feel like they were transported to the Mediterranean," explains bride Mallory. "The Bel-Air Bay Club was a natural fit with its 1920s architecture and stunning view of the ocean. We lined the aisle with little olive trees and our florist included citrus in the arrangements to provide a pop of color. The olives and citrus were also incorporated into our custom crest that adorned the invitations, signage, napkins and other elements of the day. One of our custom cocktails, the 'First Lady Fizz,' was a twist on an Aperol spritz using St Germain. We named the bar and cocktails after our dog, Ladybird.
"We unintentionally took the old adage 'something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue' to heart. I wore my mom’s veil and my engagement ring was made using the sapphire from her original ring. All the blue and white pottery used to hold the arrangements came from my mom’s collection, while some of the citrus on the cake and scattered across the tables came from my in-law’s trees. The lanterns hanging on the patio were re-used from my brother’s wedding in Hawaii. Family played such a big role in how we met and is something we highly prize, so it made a lot of sense to find ways to pay homage throughout the day."
