From Lena Lim Photography: "Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful young woman named Aurora, Princess of the Northern Lights. Aurora was a kind soul with a heart of gold. She loved to read books, especially fairy tales about princes and princesses falling in love. She dreamt of the day that she would meet her very own prince. Her heart’s true love.
Aurora’s friends were the flowers of the fields that bloomed around her quaint cottage. She often sang songs to them; sweet lullabies about her dreams. The flowers always seemed quite happy to see her and would display their wonderful garments of vibrant pinks and sunny yellows which gave her great delight.
One day, the wild sunflower spoke to her and said the wind had carried a message from her flower friends in the mountains. They told her about a kind and charming prince who lived in the castle on Mont du Soleil. Aurora was curious to meet the prince, so she arose from her bed, dressed in her most elegant gown and set off into the woods.
As Aurora approached Mont du Soleil, she glanced up and high above on the mountain sat the beautiful castle. It looked like something from one of the fairy tales she had read about in her books. So excited to see the castle for herself, Aurora ran up the hill as fast as she could.
When Aurora arrived at the top of the mountain, she called out into the still air but nobody answered. From somewhere deep within the walls of the castle, she could hear the faint sound of a melody playing. It sounded like the piano. She knocked on the door but still nobody answered. She gently pushed the door and found it opened very easily. It was dark inside the cavernous entrance, so she lit a candle to help guide her along the way. Beyond the entrance, there was a long corridor with doors on either side.
Aurora was filled with curiosity as she tiptoed carefully through the corridor with the candle clutched tight within her hand. She passed through a doorway that opened onto an ornate ballroom. The sound of the piano grew louder with each passing footstep.
She stepped inside quietly, marvelling at the beautiful artwork that adorned the walls and hung above a grand fireplace. In the corner she saw what looked like a figure sitting there, but it was too dark to see anything beyond shadows. As she approached, the darkness melted into the light and she could see it was a man playing a beautiful, old piano. At the sound of her footsteps behind him, he froze, startled at the presence of another. But when he saw Aurora’s sweet smile, he beamed.
Aurora introduced herself and told the man she had been searching for him, for she had heard from the wild sunflower that a kind and charming prince lived in the castle that sat on the top of Mont du Soleil. From the moment their eyes met, Aurora felt a warmth emanating inside of her, and her heart began to flutter. The prince told Aurora he was so pleased she had made the journey to meet him. The flowers had also told him about a beautiful, sweet-natured princess who lived in the quaint cottage and he had been playing a song that he hoped she would hear. He introduced himself as Leonardo, the prince of the Sun.
Though the pair had just met, there was a familiar feeling between the two of them. It was the comforting sense that each of them understood the other’s longing and desire for somebody to share their life with. As they grew to know each other, they realised that while they had a lot in common, they also had many differences that helped them to appreciate a different perspective in life.
Then the day finally came when Leonardo and Aurora both knew they were ready to wed. Leonardo led Aurora to his favourite place high on a hill behind the castle, overlooking the wild forest below. There he asked her to marry him and Aurora excitedly agreed. Under a glorious arch draped with the flowers of the fields, they spoke their sacred vows. Leonardo and Aurora were overjoyed to have found the one their heart would cherish forever. A million stars danced in celebration of the Prince & Princess who would love one another for the rest of their days."
