Korean American wedding in Washington DC with floral print bridesmaids dresses
We love floral print bridesmaids dresses and those at this Korean American wedding in Washington DC are some of the prettiest we've seen. Grace's bridesmaids choose different floral print dresses to complement the glorious spring wedding color scheme of ivory, lilac and cornflower blue.
Hosted at DC’s historic Dumbarton House and captured by Virginia wedding photographer and Fine Art Curation member, Marshall Arts Photography, Grace and Mark's wedding had a beautiful garden party vibe. Guests were greeted with champagne and a blind wine-tasting cart where they could vote for their favorite beverages.
Later in the evening, the couple embraced their cultural heritage with a traditional Korean Paebek Tea ceremony. The couple changed into traditional Korean wedding attire and guests gathered on the upper terrace to witness this meaningful ritual.
In this Korean wedding ceremony, the family of the bride welcomes the groom, and the groom’s family welcomes the bride. As the families are served tea by the couple, the families offer blessings for the couple’s marriage.
The groom’s parents tossed chestnuts for the couple to ‘catch,’ to represent the hope that the couple will be blessed with children. The groom also carried the bride, wearing bright red circles on her cheek, on his back. After the piggyback ride, guests were invited to partake of the many sweet treats that were laid out on display as part of the Korean ceremony.
