Italian destination wedding inspiration with 1920s style
Art Deco, jazz, Coco Chanel and Walt Disney... it can only be the 1920s, the first truly modern decade in the 1900s and the inspiration for today's chic editorial from Italian wedding planner, Gionata Russo. With its casual chic fashion, incredible sparkly jewels and dreamy iconic design, the 1920s inspires many brides looking for elegant and timeless wedding style. Scroll on and you'll see why!
Over to wedding designer, Gionata Russo, a Fine Art Curation member: "After the pandemic, we may now wonder if the 2020s will roar the way the 1920s did! This concept inspired our shoot at the historic Villa Muggia on the shores of Lake Maggiore, captured by Kiran Dira Photography. The venue beautifully preserves vintage items by mixing them with modern elements, a juxtaposition that flowed through every detail in our Italian destination wedding editorial. For example, for the reception we styled ghost chairs with vintage candlestick holders; modern chargers with vintage silverware, and plexiglass flower supports with vintage glass cups.
"For the bridal styling, we ran with the 1920s vibe with dresses featuring a comfortable fit and drop waist; sparkling jewelry; beaded headbands and bobbed hair, with a modern edge. Two outfits from Cortana’s collection were a perfect match for this idea: a floating silk dress with flattering silhouette for the first look and chic two piece for the ceremony. We completed the looks with sparkle details by Nea Milano and effortless hair and make-up by Alena Trigolosova."
"Floral designer Chiara, from Sfumature Di Cipria, choose classic flowers and lush leaves to create two unique white bridal bouquets; one structured and graphic, the other soft and whimsical. Chiara also created a low floral crescent moon structure for the ceremony spot and relaxed table centerpieces in a relaxed garden style."
