From the planner, Beckon Events: "Nestled deep in the Appalachian Mountains at Old Edwards Inn’s Rockwood Lodge, this editorial was shrouded with an air of intrigue set with a backdrop of mysterious fog. Sitting atop one of the highest peaks in Highlands, North Carolina, this lodge was fully immersed in the clouds for this moody, misty shoot—but what was not revealed in mountain views was quickly eclipsed by the beauty that abounded in the foreground. With the air of relaxed opulence, this experience was one that everyone was hoping for; truly a standout in its fresh approach to the tablescape, stationery and florals.
Both Brandon & Katelynn were dressed befitting the occasion; the gown featured billowing sleeves, layers of soft cream & blush toned tulle, with embroidered and embellished floral details. The occasional silhouette of a bird can even be subtly spotted hidden amongst the leaves and flowers on this Willow by Watters’ Saros gown. Meanwhile, the groom’s tone on tone black lapel popped with his autumnal boutonniere with silk ribbon to compliment the hand-tied bouquet.
In addition to the venue, Old Edwards Inn also provided the culinary offerings: delectable charcuterie boards with cascading seasonal fruits and show stopping salads. Adorned with cade blue velvet linens, sheer runners and dijon napkins, the table was set casually with an oversized empire style crystal chandelier at one end, nodding to the carefree and luxurious mood of the entire shoot.
Growing from the base of the table up, the florals also spilled over the edge of the dinner table and were woven organically through the ornate chandelier. The intricate woodland watercolors of the stationery blended seamlessly with the venue’s remote location, and the intimate ceremony on the lawn further continued the wild, overgrown feel with a low organic crescent of florals anchoring the straightforward seating."
