From Whitney and Matsaya Photography: "With restricted travel and a demand for intimate weddings, this inspiration shows exactly how to make small spaces feel larger than life in your very own location. Whether it’s setting a small reception table for your limited guests in the atrium or saying “I dos” in front of an intimate fireplace, you can still make your dream wedding happen without having to go far.
Being lovers of all things beautiful, de Vasco’s Daughter’s intent was to design a swoon-worthy wedding editorial melding a delicate balance of soft romanticism with an opulent style. This shoot was inspired by the color blue, which has been called everyone’s favorite color, and is known in many cultures to represent peace or love. It portrays values of sentiment and uniqueness, especially when featured in a wedding.
Taking cues from the past and wanting a storybook setting, Bavaria Downs was decidedly the perfect venue for this romantic styled shoot. With its alluring, sun-drenched bridal suite, dressed in lush velvets and gilded golds, to its stunning library, this choice was the perfect backdrop. Opulent alabaster chandeliers and ornate wrought iron gates added to the charm of this fairytale-esque venue. Instead of utilizing the large ballroom, we got creative with utilizing small, unconventional areas that were full of character.
Studio Fleurette created romantic and effortless floral designs using the most exquisite shades of aquas, corals and blues. Their organic silhouettes included seasonal flowering branches of magnolia and lilac, with “Blue Maggie” painted tulips, “Cappuccino” garden roses, daffodils and “Brownie” Japanese sweet peas adding their pop of color.
The atrium, with its romantic details and natural light was the perfect setting for our intimate reception. Billowy silk runners and deep blue velvet served as a striking background where shadows danced among lush florals and fresh fruit. Simple ivory table settings, crystal and silver goblets and a mixture of bronze and gold accents beckoned guests to dine.
Our fair bride, with her porcelain skin, alluring blue eyes and loosely tousled curls, was the vision of a modern day princess. Her jaw-dropping gown by Galia Lahav featured yards of textured tulle and a delicate pearl studded bodice. No veil was needed, but we added a delicate, handcrafted hair piece resembling a golden twig (accessories by NEA•Milano) and coordinating statement earrings. Her rings were hand-forged and reminiscent of days gone by. Designed with 2 colors of gold and a lush London Blue Topaz, this beautiful set by The North Way Studio, could surely become a family heirloom.
Our overall theme of luxurious blues was emphasized again in our custom designed stationery suite. Hand torn and gilded in gold leaf letterpress and calligraphy (by Amelia Nui Studio), this delicate choice complimented our vision perfectly! A unique wedding cake (blue of course), adorned with edible jewelry and layers of wafer paper, (Leah, of Ink Sweets), gave an exquisite finish to our fairytale wedding!"
