Clifftop Picnic Engagement Session in Madeira
When someone in the wedding industry says 'Yes,' you know it's going to be good! Well, for this bride-to-be and wedding planner, her engagement shoot certainly did not disappoint! Diane Sotero Photography photographed the couple's romantic, Madeira based engagement session on a stunning clifftop with a beautiful picnic style setting. This shoot has us dying to see the wedding photos when the couple finally gets to say 'I Do!' in Portugal! Head on down to read how Carolin & Luciano met...
From the Bride: “Our love story started at a Brazilian barbecue Sunday on the Northern Island of New Zealand on 31.10.2010. We met on this Sunday, because luckily we had common Brazilian friends. For both of us it was love at first sight. We had a great funny Sunday together with our friends and the day ended with Luciano cooking pasta for us. And so, he also made me fall in love with his cooking… very clever Brazilian flirting strategy. From this day on we saw each other almost every day and after one month I moved in Luciano’s apartment.
Over Christmas and New Year, I get to know Luciano’s lovely mother and aunt and we had a very special holiday time together with some trips around New Zealand. Also, my parents visit me in Auckland and got to know Luciano at the very beginning of our relationship. After three wonderful months together, my flight was going back to Germany… it was a very hard goodbye, because we weren’t sure how our love would work in a long-distance relationship. After one year seeing us only every 3-4 months in Germany or Brazil, Luciano decided on New Year’s Eve 2012 to move to Germany for one year… one year have become 10 years now and we are still crazy in love.
Some years after our time in New Zealand Luciano’s mum told me that Luciano thought about proposing to me before my flight back from New Zealand to Germany. Instead, he proposed to me on our 9th anniversary on the island of Madeira at sunrise with a romantic breakfast at our balcony. One year later we celebrated our 10th anniversary again on the island of Madeira with an engagement shooting with the lovely and very talented photographer Diane Sotero. Our wedding we will celebrate next year with our closest family and friends in Portugal."
