Autumnal Nordic Handfasting Ceremony
In a world of the 'newest and latest and greatest'... we're stricken by the deep rooted and meaningful Nordic Handfasting Ceremony, something you don't see too often. A marriage is, by nature, a binding moment in two people's lives and the Nordic Handfasting Ceremony signifies the start of a life, bound together. Inspired by this ancient ceremony, Wedding Sparrow favorites florist Katie of Ponderosa & Thyme and film photographer Alexandra Grace Photography collaborated on this stunning autumnal wedding. Of course the remarkable gigantic wreath by Katie and assistant Foraged Floral stopped us in our tracks...
From Alexandra Grace Photography: "Katie of Ponderosa & Thyme created designed this inspiration shoot around the concept of the Nordic Handfasting ceremony from the ancient Celts. The ceremony represents the couple being bound together before being married. With this in mind, Katie brought together some of the best local vendors to contribute dresses, jewelry, hair & makeup, cake, and an invitation suite to create the scene anchored by a giant wreath and a breathtaking bouquet she created."
