Art Inspired Wedding Inspiration in Vienna

Sep 21, 2016 | Inspiration

With this kiss
We rise and float to heaven.
The luxury of golden mosaics
cannot hold or define us.
Comfort quickly
transforms to passion
as inhibitions like opulent and exotic
coverlets slip away.
United in joyous elation
we rest our heads
on embroidered pillows
of stars and constellations.
-Nina Dol

Inspired by a masterpiece by Klimt, today's feature embodies the art-inspires-life movement. We are proud to call both stylist Elisabeth of A Very Beloved Wedding and photographer Sara Donaldson members of the Wedding Sparrow fine art curation as both are visionaries on their own. While we appreciate and love neutrals, light and airy romantic couples' portraits, and all the tulle, embroidery, and romantic details... our industry continually needs inspiration from non-wedding sources and sources like historic artwork or events. Feast your eyes on this memorable Vienna shoot and read below for more about the inspiration behind it all...

From stylist A Very Beloved Wedding: "Klimt, an Austrian symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement, inspires this Styled Shoot. Klimt’s primary subject was the female body. His most famous paintings belong to the golden phase, where he used golden leaf. One of his most famous paintings is named “The kiss”, which portrays him together with his Emilie. Many lovers tied the knot in front of that painting, as it is one of the most significant love symbols in Austria."

From photographer Sara Donaldson: "Incorporating art -- classic or otherwise -- is a genius way to set the tone for your wedding. It is unpredictable and romantic, yet timeless in its efforts to be bold. Choose an artist who speaks to you and ask why? What is it that I love about this piece? What can I bring to my wedding to celebrate this energy and creativity? How can I translate these feelings into floral, color tones and meaningful elements? Take art and make it yours!

This Vienna, Austria styled shoot is inspired by the tones and posturing of Klimpt paintings. ...a painter and his muses relaxing and having tea at Ernst Fuchs' quirky home and museum...

It was a moody day in Vienna, which paired perfectly with the strong, feminine energy of Klimt. Regal gowns with distinct character contrast with the striking color tones of Ernst Fuchs' intriguing artwork. This is wedding inspiration with a twist of art and tinge of dark. A bride curling up with her bridesmaids; a painter gripping his bride with passion."
