Wedding Morning Mantra

Nov 07, 2016 | Planning

"All we have to do is ask for a miracle and allow it to happen, not resist it. There can be a new beginning, a life unlike the past. Our relationships shall be made new. Our bodies shall be made new. So shall the will of God be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Not later, but now. Not elsewhere, but here. Not through pain, but through peace. So be it. Amen." -Marianne Williamson

Below you'll read the inspiring heart behind today's feature from planner Shannon Schultz that speaks directly to our simplicity-loving hearts. Indeed there is an abundance of energy that surrounds a bride and channeling, controlling, and nurturing that energy could be the key to a peaceful start to a beautiful marriage. Brides, remind yourself that your wedding day is about you and your partner. Your wedding day is about your loved ones who supported you through this day. Your wedding day is about a marriage. We love this 'wedding day mantra' photographed by one of our favorites, Sara Donaldson, because you can visibly see the transformation from a calm start to a light-filled bride...

From Shannon Schultz Events: "Nature. Meditation. Heart opening movement. Preparing the best of oneself so that you can bring your clearest soul to your marriage.

Entertaining the idea of unravelling any unnecessary chatter in order to make room for the union that you are about to fulfill. So much energy centers around the bride. This morning meditation routine sounds a little serious for most brides-and I don’t think your wedding morning getting ready experience needs to be serious. I actually prefer the latter with bountiful champagne, fun music, and joyful high energy, but I believe in balance and the solo mediation and connection in the early morning is vital to equilibrium.

You have your wedding hashtag, but why not have your own personal mantra for your wedding day? …a list of verbs, an excerpt from a book. Include your mantra tucked away secretly on beautiful paper in your bouquet, or have your words with you to comfort yourself when you get a little nervous before your walk down the aisle. The excerpt I focused on for this shoot was:

"All we have to do is ask for a miracle and allow it to happen, not resist it. There can be a new beginning, a life unlike the past. Our relationships shall be made new. Our bodies shall be made new. So shall the will of God be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Not later, but now. Not elsewhere, but here. Not through pain, but through peace. So be it. Amen." -Marianne Williamson

Our collective verbs when preparing for the shoot were:

float

melt

reflect

surrender

forgiveness

loving thoughts

gentle perception

present

renew

reflection

Meditative

relax

restore

ENJOY

soften

enliven

FLOW WITH..."

From Moss Floral: "When selecting flowers, I wanted to choose delicate blooms that mirror the precious moments of reflection before the bride weds. I also chose a white palette, which symbolizes the simplicity and innocence of a bride before she takes her vows. These moments may include meditation or reminiscence symbolized by the white blooms in our story."
