Hottest trends from Bridal Week 2016 - Barcelona
The past few weeks have been a sea of wedding dress inspiration thanks to Bridal Weeks kicking off all over the world. First, there was the first of two New York Bridal Weeks where we saw endless gorgeous gowns on the runway at Spring 2017 Bridal Week. Recently, in the name of fashion and all things bridal, we hit the sunshine in Barcelona to see even more stunning wedding dresses at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week. From Galia Lahav to Rosa Clara, all the big names rocked the runway to show off what we'll be seeing our brides wearing in 2017...
ROSA CLARA
With a modern yet indulgent style, there was so much detail to the Rosa Clara show at Barcelona Bridal Week this year. Metallic Chantilly added luster and shine to the pieces, and Valenciennes in combination with silk crêpe in the more architectonic outlines. Muslins were revived, and the ethereal feel of the dresses is also emphasized with tulle on voluminous skirts and superimposed lace and Chantilly on organza overskirts.
As for the details: In the company's aesthetic spirit, tulip bows and organza petals adorn the dresses, bringing the beauty of nature to the pieces, while embroidery and back decorations evolve into sophisticated motifs sewn with silver thread and crystals.
YOLAN CRIS
Feathers and lace and boho details, oh my! Their 10th anniversary show in Haute Couture was a showstopper and left us wanting more. Their Boho Folk style was the talk of the day and their juxtaposition between contemporary mixed with 70s luxe was perfection. Who said boho couldn't be elegant...?
GALIA LAHAV
There wasn't a fashion lover in sight that wasn't looking forward to the Galia Lahav 2017 collection this year and it was a pure-love-for-nature collection. Inspired by the serenity and beauty of Isola Bella (Also known as The Pearl of the Ionian Sea), an Island, a nature reserve, gifted to Taormina, Sicily, from King Ferdinand the 1st of the two Sicilies, GALA no. 2 is designed for the trendy and jaunty bride, who wishes to pamper herself with a high fashion made dress and keep that spontaneous-character-vibe going on. You'll meet a combination of warm palette colors and delicate vintage lace, like the french guipure, bursts of earth-tones colors and a hint of Edwardian silhouettes.
INMACULADA GARCIA
With a reputation for delicateness and elegance, Inmaculada Garcia's passion for fabrics and design brings harmony to each of her models, transforming them into exquisite pieces.
The main characteristics of her 2017 collection are purity, fluidity, and lightness, perfect for any destination bride...
ISABEL ZAPARDIEZ
We fell into a dreamlike world with Isabel Zapardiez and her new collection, hinting at a cosmopolitan yet fairy tale princess style.
The diversity of this show showed in the fabrics, including light natural silk chiffons matching with heavier fabrics, such as the triple drap.
There's plenty more to see from Barcelona Bridal Week 2016 so pop back to Wedding Sparrow tomorrow to see part 2 of this epic few days of bridal inspiration...
