English Country Manor House Wedding in the Fall

May 22, 2018 | Weddings

The venue in today's real wedding from Imogen Xiana hold a special place in our hearts as it's close by my home, in Dorset, England. Set amongst the rolling English countryside, St Giles House is the perfect quintessential venue and when I see stunning weddings held here like today's of Rachael and Wayne, it just makes me wish I got married here! This beautiful wedding was brought seamlessly together by floral designer Martha & The Meadow and one beautiful dress by British designer Charlie Brear...

From the Bride, Rachael: "Wayne and I met on our very first night out at University during freshers week and have been together ever since. 10 years later Wayne managed to surprise me with his proposal which I never thought he would be able to do after being together for so long. Whilst asking for my dad’s permission Wayne asked him where I loved going as a child. He ended up taking me away for a surprise weekend to Loch Lomond where we stayed at Cameron House overlooking the loch. After an amazing dinner at Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond Wayne led me on a walk to the bay and as the sun set he got down on one knee asked me to marry him. I always thought I would say something witty when the time finally came but instead I just cried, a lot."

"The most important thing for us while planning our wedding was reminding ourselves about the reasons why we were getting married and ensuring that the ceremony was the focus. We initially weren’t sure we wanted a church wedding but after spending time at Wimborne St Giles Church and getting to know the Revd Robert Simpson we had no second thoughts. He was so friendly and welcoming and provided us with an opportunity to have the intermit wedding we wanted. Along with the ceremony we always knew we wanted our friends and family to have an incredible time. Amazing food and drink were the key objectives. We are lucky that out amazing friend owns his own catering company, Northern Fields and they let us choose exactly what we wanted for our menu and delivered it to perfection."

"We had the most amazing day of Autumnal sunshine and clear skies which enabled us to have our string quartet and reception drinks outside. Looking back It’s difficult to pick which parts of the day were our favourites and the ceremony had such an important meaning for us and it proved to be one of the only times we got to be alone together during the whole day. Enjoying having everyone you love and care about in one place is such an incredible and overwhelming feeling but one that we will never forget. We decided to walk between the two trestle tables and speak to all guests between food courses, we were so glad we did because it gave us a chance to speak to everyone that had travelled so far and at such effort to be with us. We were so lucky that everything went perfectly!"

From Martha & The Meadow: "Working with Rachael and Wayne on their wedding was a joy, creating florals that would not only work with their style but also really reflect the Autumnal season. Working with the idea that they wanted to use a lot of foliage in their designs, I created a design that brought an abundance of different textures in from a range of foliages and seed heads as well as using a broad spectrum of colour shades, not just green. But deep burgundies from Copper Beech, Spindleberry and Cotinus along with other foliage that were already showing ‘fall colour’. All this abundance sat alongside beautiful garden roses such as White O’Hara and Alabaster roses which not only added a really romantic feel to the look - but also the most incredible scent. I loved how the flowers sat with the interior of St Giles House so well and really brought together much of Rachael and Wayne’s detailing."

I love the attention to detail in the shots.  The couple will have spent a lot of time and effort on all the decorations and you have captured them beautifully - well done.
