Seaside Wedding Inspiration with Natural Textures

Jul 27, 2015 | Inspiration
The most memorable weddings and editorials are ones that draw out radiant beauty from natural settings and materials. We heart today's inspiration courtesy of film photographers Jeremiah and Rachel Photography and with florals and styling by the lovely Thistle and Honey. Future brides take note! One of the easiest ways to create the most stylish and timeless scene for your big day is to use more of a monochromatic, nature-inspired color palette with a myriad of textures to create interest. In this seaside editorial, the pale blues and creamy neutrals are mixed in with the weathered wood and airy Silk and Willow fabrics. We love, so go ahead and pin, pin, pin! From Jeremiah and Rachel Photography: "Where the ocean begins will always be a place of inspiration for us. Living in the mountains of Montana, each cold day of the winter months pushes us towards the coast. That magic place where water meets land and dreams seem a little more colorful, and the air a little more full. We loved working with Shannon of Thistle and Honey for this shoot. She brought an idea into reality, and gave it life. Keeping with soft neutrals and blues to set the tone, and lush blooms taking center stage, the tablescape was sweet and intimate with the perfect amount of style.  The insanely gorgeous calligraphy from Whitney Farnsworth played perfectly with the wildness and yet softness of the coast. As the sun set on Bodega Bay, we walked up and down the soft sandy beach, making images of our beautiful model Kate, in the stunning Claire Pettibone Chantilly gown from Willow Bride. She was joy to work with and we could feel the joy radiating from her.   As the sun faded, we savored the last bit of light, those perfect precious moments when the sky seems more like a fairytale than real. We made one last perfectly soft frame, an ode to the Sea.

as is the sea marvelous from god’s hands which sent her forth to sleep upon the world

and the earth withers the moon crumbles one by one stars flutter into dust

but the sea does not change and she goes forth out of hands and she returns into hands

and is with sleep….

love,    the breaking of your soul upon my lips
