Postponed Wedding in a White Barn Venue

Jan 25, 2021 | Weddings

Couple, Maddie and Ross, like many 2020 couples had to roll with the many punches of Covid19. Their original wedding date of June 27th was postponed to September 4th last Summer because of the virus. They decided to go ahead with their original date and have a small ceremony with their families, then their big party on September 4th. The bride, Maddie, likes to refer to her two dates as the “Big Day” and the “Bigger Day". We love it!

From the bride, Maddie: “Being a “corona couple” was not ideal by any means. We initially planned to get married on June 27th, 2020 with all of our friends and family. Due to COVID-19, this was not our reality. We rescheduled our wedding for September but with things so uncertain we decided to tie the knot on our original wedding date with less than 25 guests. Initially, we were heartbroken… our plans we’d been making for 18 months seemed to fall apart within a few weeks. The challenges we faced really reminded us what the day was all about - two people becoming one. With such an intimate ceremony we were able to focus on the marriage and not the wedding. In the end, we were able to have both weddings, which we deemed our “big day” and our “bigger day”. Not many people can say they married the same person twice in less than 3 months. What we initially thought was devastating ended up being one of our biggest blessings.”

From McSween Photography: "There were cute nodes throughout their wedding, like their second invitation saying, “Let’s try this again.” A healthy way of dealing with the setback of postponing your wedding for sure. Overall these two had the most gorgeous day in the North Carolina mountains on September 4th. Maddie and Ross met in College at Wofford College and they even had a surprise visit from their college mascot at their reception!"
