From Becca Wong Events: “Our photoshoot is inspired by wabi-sabi, combining imperfection with mid-century modern. Viansa in Sonoma is an incredible venue that suits weddings of all seasons. They are typically extremely booked and popular during the summer. However, when I went to visit the venue during the winter time I saw so much character and allure in areas of the venue that were typically overflowing with greenery. With the colder season, hundreds of leaves fell and in their place were solely branches. However, in a way there was something so perfect about this. I really wanted this shoot to be inspired by nature, yet constructed in a very intentional and unique way for winter elopements.

We took advantage of the warm walls and focused on embracing raw materials. Bough + Twig artfully created unique boutonnieres and two distinctive bouquets with minimal florals. As well as incorporating soil, moss and branches to pair with neutral and modern ceramics, flatware, linens, chairs and unspoken black accents. Owl Post Calligraphy used stunning textures for the invitations, menus and escort cards, creating a perfect balance with the rest of the table. Our beautiful bride wore an elegant and chic two piece from Alexandra Grecco. For our bride’s second dress, I wanted to shy away from tradition and choose something atypical. I chose a brown silk gown with twisted draping at the center front to take our inspiration full circle.

Though this year has been strange and unknown, our goal of this shoot was to highlight beauty in the imperfection. As this year comes to a close and we head into the next, we hope that couples can be encouraged and know that though their original plans might have changed, intimate celebrations are just as special!”
