How to incorporate your personalities into your Engagement announcements
Welcome to all our new engaged brides and grooms! I'm so excited to hear about Holiday engagements and not least because I got engaged over the holidays a few years ago too. It's the most wonderful time of the year full of celebrations but now the dust has settled a little, and we're all back at work and focussing on the year ahead, I know first hand how overwhelming it can be to see all the inspiration out there when you start delving into the world of wedding planning!
My best advice is to start one little bit at a time. First stop? Celebrating your engagement of course! Don't go pedal to the metal just yet with the big day itself. Take some time to enjoy this usually short-lived time in your lives to enjoy the celebration. Book in your Engagement Session with your favorite photographer (you can see all our faves here) and get planning your Save the Dates! It's easy to keep your Engagement Session timeless like this one. Less is more. Focus on your color palette and textures rather than props and places and you'll definitely be able to display your images in your home as well as on your wedding stationery for years to come without it looking dated. Are you drawn to a warm palette like this one, or a colder one? Once you've decided, choose your outfits (again keep it simple with one tone and no patterns) and let your landscape add the texture. Whether it's a desert or a forest, nature is the ultimate in timeless inspiration so it's the easiest and most stylish location to use. Once you've got your location and outfit decided on, it's onto the Save The Dates...
Today, we've teamed up with MINTED to let you know how to escape boring and dull Save The Date cards and use an engagement session to inject your couples' personalities into your stationery. What better way to let your friends and family know what's to come?
There are so many styles of Save The Dates over at Minted, so using your favorite images from your Engagement Session is the perfect start to hinting at your style and wedding aesthetic. This organic desert shoot from film photographer Nikki Santerre is for the more adventurous couple who wants to make a statement with a fine art, styled session. Divine! With an out of this world setting and stunning designer gown from Leanne Marshall, these gorgeous images are so easily paired with MINTED Save The Dates.
All you have to do is choose whether you'd like foil, a traditional layout or a bold and dramatic landscape shot to send to your future wedding day guests. Easy!

Wow… these colours! Always was a bit afraid of adding too many bright colours to my work, but by seeing this… yes! Very nice inspiration!
