From Mon Soleil: "To say that we're honored to coach other photographers in their journey is a grave understatement. The past 12 years in this industry has been a gift to my life, and it's a privilege and a blessing to help others achieve their own success in these unchartered waters. We're able to help hundreds of photographers in a personalized way in the Wedding Photography Masterclass. One really fun feature of the comprehensive program is the Inspire Retreats we offer exclusively to the members of the WPM. We host two of these three-day events filled with connection, laughter, self-exploration, growth, and of course, lots of inspiration and editorials.

The photographs are the result of one of the three editorials dreamed up by a dream-team of artists, creatives, and collaborators. The Inspire Retreats would not be possible without these incredible individuals. Valerie Gernhauser, of Sapphire Events, was the lead planner and designer behind the event as well as the editorials. Kingsway Studio came highly recommended, and as we soon found out, it is a place full of a rich and colorful history. There was no lack of inspiration for this shoot. Anyone that has entered the 12,000 square foot private residence of Kingsway understands this to be true. Nestled in the French Quarter, Kingsway brings an unspoken eclectic energy that awakens creativity. Knowing it's unique history, will help you envision this legendary studio and why so many have been drawn to this space.

This intriguing home was built in 1848 and has been owned by a colorful cast of local characters. Prohibition-era restaurateur Count Leon Arnaud Cezenave called Kingsway his home and brought life to the city with Creole cuisine by opening his family's namesake Arnaud's Restaurant.

In the 1990's the property captivated the esteemed producer Daniel Lanois. He reimagined Kingsway. Lanois operated perhaps the most prolific recording studios in the world. Artists flocked to Kingsway Studio, among them U2, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Pearl Jam, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Robbie Robertson, Sheryl Crow, Iggy Pop, Blind Melon, Cowboy Mouth and other respected artists. Nicolas Cage later owned the property, filming "Sonny" at the house in 2002.

In 2004, Sean Cummings purchased the property and owns it to this day. Cummings invited Los Angeles based LM Pagano, architect Wayne Troyer to renovate the property. This iconic Italianate building is nationally recognized, with features in the New York Times, Robb Report and Louisiana Homes and Gardens, among other press.

We were honored to photograph this editorial here. This historic, classic, and wildly quirky place seems to take you to an entirely different reality. Perhaps it's the ceiling to floor chandelier that greets you at the door that excites the mind. One thing is for sure, passion and a divine impulse to create - lives here.
Much of the inspiration for this editorial was born of this magnificent red room. The story is one of inspiration itself. It was told to me by Valerie, and so I will do my best do it justice. As the story goes, the owner was at an auction seeking art that was worthy for Kingsway. This unparalleled painting of Aubrey Hepburn was being offered, and Cummings knew it was perfect. Unfortunately, he was outbid. The gentlemen that purchased the painting later found Cummings, and after some discussion, he revealed that he was the son of Aubrey. He offered t o loan the painting to Cummings under one condition. It was to be hung in a room as marvelous and grand as she was during her lifetime.

Cummings kept his promise. This vibrant red room is a masterpiece. Aubrey Hepburn's painting radiates passion, boldness, and creativity.

I THINK IT'S SAFE TO SAY WE ALL NEED MORE PASSION, BOLDNESS, AND CREATIVITY."
