Classic South Carolina Island Real Wedding
Daufuskie Island is one of South Carolina’s best kept secrets. A true island, it can only be accessed by ferry. No bridges here! Ushering your guests onto a ferry to a private oasis is one heck of a way to set the tone for a beautiful Southern wedding day. Kim + Maury treated their guests to delicious seafood, rum based cocktails and a view of the South Carolina coast and waters...
"Our vision was to have a classic low-country wedding that accentuated the setting. We wanted colors and décor that complimented and highlighted the backdrop instead of distracting from the backdrop. As such, we chose Jenny Yoo’s Whipped Apricot as the color for the bridesmaids dress and worked with the florist from there to set the color scheme for the flowers. Adding in other natural elements such as the driftwood and oyster shells kept with our vision of incorporating the setting and natural elements throughout our décor."
"My first look with Maury as well as seeing his face as I was walking down the aisle. I loved having a few moments just the two of us to enjoy and take in the day before all of the excitement began."
"The setting at Haig Point provided the perfect “southern” low-country backdrop we were wanting with the large oak trees covered in Spanish moss. To add an additional Southern/local flare, Gospel singers led our guests from the ceremony spot to cocktail hour singer traditional southern gospel songs. The menu was especially Southern with a full roasted pig, low-country boil and shrimp and grits stations. Our band, The Ty Reynolds Band, along with little touches such as oyster shell name cards and driftwood completed the Southern feel."
From The Happy Bloom: "One of our favorite moments of the day was during the couple’s first look. We turned around for a moment to give the couple some privacy - and there we saw the bride’s two sisters and dad huddled together watching from afar. It was one of the sweetest moments that we’ve seen in our careers as photographers."
From Crystal of Tara Skinner Events: "The classic and beautiful southern style of the day perfectly mirrored Kimberly and Maury. The neutral tones and low country elements were sweet, subtle and created a perfect canvas for the touch of color from the bridesmaid dresses and gold table accents. It could not have come together any better!"
