Chloe and Jean’s Paris Elopement
Chloe and Jean are the epitome of a blissfully in-love couple. What could possibly be more romantic than THE city of love, Paris? Only adding in a gorgeous Mira Zwuillinger gown and an adorable 'Just Married' sign by Rachel Jacobson on a vespa, of course! Read Cloe's lovely words below and at the bottom words from photographer Angela Shae...
From Chloe, the bride: "My husband and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary this year with a long awaited trip to Europe. It had been my dream since the day we got married to celebrate our 5 year anniversary in Paris, but life got hectic, kids were too young to leave and money was tight so we had to postpone. After setting aside money for close to 2 years, we finally had enough to go on a long adventure together, explore places we never been before and spend quality time together as a couple (without the children).
Backtrack to when we initially got engaged and started planning our wedding; it was a very stressful time for us as a couple. We were both really young (19 and 20), both in college and without much savings to fund an elaborate wedding, honeymoon and to furnish our apartment. During that time, I remember my now husband often talking about how eloping would be the best solution to everything. He seriously wanted to run off somewhere romantic and have an intimate celebration. “Marriage is essentially about a promise and a commitment,” he kept saying and the party wasn’t as important to him as the blessing and the vows. However, we both understood that our families would be really upset if we chose not to have a big wedding. My dream location for an elopement would have defiantly been Paris. So when we decided to travel to Paris on our anniversary trip, I knew that I wanted to photograph a love story there."
From photographer Angela Shae: "Before seeing Jean for the first time that morning, Chloe has a sweet letter delivered to him in which she expresses her love and the dreams she has for them in a lifetime of together. The couple arrange to meet at the Louvre Museum for their first look. The day starts off with tight and happy embraces followed by a couple portrait photos. The two then head to the promenade near the Eiffel tower where a quick ceremony takes place. The sweethearts read their heartfelt vows to each other and share a slow first dance. The elopement ceremony takes place early in the morning, letting the two of them share their special moments without tourist interference and distractions. It’s absolutely perfect. After the official part is over, the newlyweds roam the streets of Paris.
The city is quiet and magical. Darling Chloe can’t stop giggling. They stop at a cafe for lunch. A vintage Vespa with a ‘Just Married’ banner is used to get around town. The two head on over to their beautiful honeymoon suite which has the loveliest terrance and charming views. What a great way to end the most wonderful day! This is what Parisian dreams are made of! A beautiful, invitation suit with hand torn edges and wax seals, created and designed by Rachel Jacobson is sent out to close friends and family for a small reception to follow at home once they get back from their honeymoon.
Having Dorothee from DLG Paris Unforgettable Events as their wedding planner was the best decision they made (after choosing Paris as their destination). Dorothee made sure the entire day went without a hitch and the two had the most unforgettable time."
