Chic New York country club wedding in sailcloth tent
Sometimes less is more when wedding planning and making simple carefully considered choices is key to creating a refined and elegantly styled day. This is definitely the case for Maggie and Ian, whose wedding in Skaneateles, NY is a lesson in understated chic. Their beautiful day was captured by destination wedding photographer Mary Dougherty, a Fine Art Curation member based in the Adirondacks in upstate New York.
Following their church ceremony, Maggie and Ian celebrated with their family and friends at the Skaneateles Country Club in a sailcloth tent with rustic wooden floor. The quaint Finger Lakes town in central New York has beautiful lake views, making it the perfect wedding setting. Bride Maggie wore an exquisite Zuhair Murad low-back gown with beaded garlands of leaves on the bodice that trail onto the flowing tulle skirt.
The couple chose a muted color palette of white and blush with ice blue bridesmaids' dresses. Floral designer Stacy K Floral selected garden roses, ranunculus, peonies, stocks and hydrangea in ivory and blush, with rich green foliage giving contrast in the decor. From the signature cocktails and five-tier cake to the foliage chandeliers and vintage car, there are lots of gorgeous details to inspire those of you fond of understated elegance.
