A Midsummer’s Dream in Color at The Swan House

Mar 03, 2021 | Inspiration

Just when we thought Swan House in Atlanta, Georgia couldn’t get any prettier, we came across this wedding inspiration designed by Fine Art Curation planner Krissy Campbell. Photographer Bon Photage proves here that dreams really do come true (just wait until you see these swoon-worthy details!). These designs feature "brighter color in a meaningful and timeless way while still adhering to the organic, outdoor elements and Old World, timeless elegance of the property.” Our favorite feature? The bride draped in a stunning Claire Pettibone gown leaning against the vintage getaway car... Swoon...

From Krissy Campbell: "The Swan House is one of the most sought after and stunning venues I’ve had the pleasure working at, with its rich history and architecture beaming in every detail. I normally love the subtle neutral tones as I work with timeless locations like this, but as we entered into the mid-summer tones of July, I couldn’t help but play with lush and full color in this project. As we planned this shoot for the sweetest couple, we wanted even their own personalities for the shoot - full of life and and laughter - to come through the design as well. As we looked through the space and their story, descriptors such as laughter, life-giving, timeless, elevated yet fun came to mind. We began dreaming of ways to showcase soft and timeless romance with some bold and modern accents.

We were so excited to use brighter color in a meaningful and timeless way while still adhering to the organic, outdoor elements and Old World, timeless elegance of the property. We chose warmer tones in the paper that helped pull out the soft pinks and neutrals of the architecture and kept the floral within the warmer and deep tones to pop off the cooler velvet Mist Blue table linens.

At the same time, we chose cleaner lines, neutral colors and modern elements for the contemporary couple through the beautiful clean white china, gold flatware, candle stands, and clear textured glassware from TableMade. Again, it’s so vital to bring the natural, Old World elements together with the modern touches as we speak to more and more of a clientele that is looking for the tasteful combination of the two luxurious styles.

The couple was styled to perfection in their classic black tux and stunning romantic Claire Pettibone gowns and accessories. The handmade rings graced their hands and reminded us of the unique and customized details that represent their love, no personal element going unnoticed. Our bride wore natural makeup and hair styles to represent her authentic and natural beauty and style while the groom remained clean shaven for a sophisticated look. The bridal bouquet and boutonniere were the perfect mix of subtle neutrals, greens and deep warm tones as well.

There was an effortless flow through the pieces of the celebration as well. As the couple walked through their intimate ceremony, we couldn’t help but continue to capture the mix of the elegant yet deeply moving aesthetic in the beautiful vow books by Erin Braun and large colorful floral urn which echoed the tablescape, where the two then headed to celebrate with their most significant loved ones. Each guest name was scripted on soft paper name cards tied with ribbon and every menu was handpainted with a delicate script and design.

To top off dinner, their gorgeous cake tied the color palette together with its textured strokes and delicious layers. The cake offered a mix of two simple, yet uniquely structured tiers with tall bottom and smaller top to save for the first anniversary.

All in all, this celebration spoke to the irreplaceable details of each unique couple while adhering to the timelessness that we pursue in each design. We hope the laughter, life, color, and romance of this day inspires other couples and professionals to continue to have confidence in the details of their story and personality. We love being able to showcase that these customized and fun details can still within the timeless and elevated spheres of design."
