A Fresh & Elegant Seaside Celebration with Succulent Favors
After scrolling through the endless amounts of beauty from today's romantic affair at the seaside, captured by Elizabeth LaDuca, you'll understand why we did a total double-take when we saw this wedding. To be honest, we're still having trouble believing it - it's just too perfect, thanks to the planning and design squad of Fine Art Curation member Krissy Campbell. From the bride's fashion-forward style and Monique Lhuillier gown to Field Floral Studio's floral magic, there is so much to love about this day...
From Krissy Campbell: "As a planner & stylist, I am all about sharing and celebrating the stories of those we get to work alongside through the details and experience of the planning and celebration day. When Gina first called to see how we might work together to bring her vision to life, it didn’t take long to see how deeply Gina & Ben cared about creating a space that would be elegant, yet refreshingly relaxed for their guests (and of course, themselves!) during their wedding weekend. Living in the hustle and bustle of Massachusetts, they couldn’t help but fall in love with the quaint and quiet shores of Maine, not too far away, where they decided to pursue looking for the perfect venue option to host this sweet celebration.
During some of our first meetings with Gina and Ben, we found that their story began at the University of New Hampshire, where Gina lived across the street from Ben and their friend groups overlapped. Their genuine love for spending time with friends and family began to intertwine their lives and still overflows in their day to day. As we discussed how to best reflect their stories, their love for those most dear to them was evident in not only their personal time, but throughout their careers in teaching (Ben) and working in the family real estate business (Gina). Their wedding celebration began to take shape as we pulled from adjectives they used to describe the experience they were hoping to create…thoughtful, unique, energetic, sentimental, natural, and delicate. Gina and Ben’s fun personalities, yet intimate relationship inspired a warm and carefree environment and, again, their love for the water and the relaxed outdoors led to their choice of The ViewPoint Hotel in the town of York, Maine, just off the shore of the historic Nubble Lighthouse. Gina & Ben knew that they wanted to curate a space that would be inviting and intentional, just like their incredible home they continue to spend time creating and decorating together - a true niche for Gina, being in the real estate industry.
As we began to create blueprints and choose an incredible team for their design alongside these two, we connected Gina’s unique and slightly modern taste to her stunning Monique Lhuillier gown that set the stage for the soft and delicate details. We also began to pull from the surroundings of the space and Gina’s love for the delicate blue tones to create a color palette that flowed beautifully into accents of rose, soft greens and neutrals.
The more clean, modern elements were drawn in through the structured sailcloth tent and table layout, the straight lines of the tableware and gold taper candle stands, glass frames and signage. Whereas, the more personal, timeless touches were found in the Old World lounge furniture, handmade paper name cards woven into each fork’s prongs, the delicate menus and letterpress invitations and blue accented cocktail banner at the bar, along with the Italian inspired desserts (Gina’s family has Italian roots!) and detailed cutting cake that Gina & Ben carefully chose. The flowing table garlands, floral arrangements and lush green trees spiraling up the tent poles and pulled throughout the ceremony flowed with the natural outdoor surroundings alongside the soft blue and pink hues in the linens, table runners and bridal party attire. Gina’s ladies wore the most gorgeous blue Jenny Yoo gowns and reflected the natural and delicate vibes of Gina’s hair and makeup that our stylists so perfectly curated. The men pulled in darker hues in their suits, while Ben showcased a matching patterned tie that tied to the flowing bridal florals and boutonnieres. One of the final touches came through a DIY project for Gina and her sister and mom when they chose to pot cute little plant favors for guests to take home.
Elizabeth LaDuca’s film images captured perfectly the essence and flow of the celebration as it unfolded in the sweet emotions and happy tears surrounding the morning preparation, the bespoke details of the couple’s letters to each other, their gentle embrace in the few quiet moments of a first look, the quaint, old town trolley as it delivered its guests, the string music as Gina walked down the aisle, the waving greens and blooms from the soft breeze in each bouquet and at each farm table, the curated food on served platters during cocktails, the warmth of the light by the water as the sun came and went, the raised champagne glasses among each happy guest, the energy on the dance floor, and the glimmer of the sparklers as cheers sent off the happy couple. Whew…we could go on and on. This was truly a magical reflection of these two as they celebrated their stories becoming one. Gina and Ben were the perfect mix of calm and excited through the planning process and that memorable day, and they wouldn’t have it any other way! I am so thankful for this amazing duo and the experience we got to create alongside them. It is such a dream for Gina, Ben and my team to share a glimpse of these perfect moments with you. Thank you so much for sharing this sweet day!"
