A celebration of spring in nature with vintage Gossamer gown
Inspired by the writings of Thoreau in his work, Walden, today's stunning editorial celebrates natural beauty and the roots of home. It provides inspiration for anyone considering getting married at home or out in the nature on your doorstep, where the seasons dictate your decor and nature provides all you need. It is brought to us by Minnesota floral designer and Fine Art Curation member Rose and Laurel, who is committed to sustainable floristry with USA grown produce.
For this shoot, founder Sarah Bruxvoort sourced locally grown tulips and spirea to celebrate spring, alongside helebore, ranunculus and lily of the valley in shades of ivory, cream, blush and apricot. Working with an existing shrub on the dock at this private property, she created an illusion arch that felt like it was always meant to be there.
Sarah explains how every element was carefully sourced and thought through to celebrate the concept of place, and how an unexpected discovery only reinforced her passion for nature. "The vintage gown sourced from Gossamer provided an additional layer of texture and the translucence of the fabric allowed light to play between the layers, much like how sunlight shines through the layers of leaves and branches in the woodland, before landing on the still waters of the pond."
She adds: "We were delighted to find a fawn near our dinner table, quietly resting while its mother walked in the distant woods, never too far away. We left the little one to his spot next to the wildflowers: a quiet and still reminder of the wonder and beauty that can be found in our own backyard, if only we quieten ourselves to observe it."
