6 pretty tablescape ideas to inspire your reception style
In the early stages of planning your wedding? You're probably familiar with the overwhelm of so many gorgeous reception décor ideas flying at you from Instagram, Pinterest and magazines like Wedding Sparrow. We get it. There's a lot of pretty out there and it can be difficult to define what you want and translate your desire style to your vendors.
Fine Art Curation member Lianna Marie is here to help. As a fine art wedding photographer covering Southern California, Las Vegas and beyond, she has seen a lot of beautiful tables and today she is sharing some of her favourite styles to inspire you, plus details on why the work.
Touch of teal
The key to using an accent color stylishly is not to overdo it. Less is more, especially if it is a strong color like teal. The touches in the candles and napkins here are just enough to pique interest without going OTT.
We love a beach wedding! A seaside location makes for a beautifully relaxed setting and brings a host of simple styling ideas. Go foraging for shells, driftwood and pretty pebbles, and talk to your florist about incorporating airy grasses that waft in the sea breeze.
Blousy and blush
Blush has been a bridal favourite for as long as we can remember. Why? Because it's soft, feminine and romantic and can usually compliment whatever décor your venue has. We like the mix of tall and low centrepieces here that give extra interest to the room.
Mixing light and dark flowers like the blush and burgundy here adds a unique touch of sophistication to your décor as the contrast really highlights the different shapes and textures. A good florist will love to work with you to create an interesting color palette using the best seasonal blooms around.
When thinking about your table décor, don't forget to look up. Suspended pendants or chandeliers like these beaded beauties really make a statement and will wow your guests. You can get creative with flowers too and string up hardy varieties for an exotic bohemian vibe.
If you're after a timeless classic vibe, you can't go wrong with ivory and green. You just can't! And don't go thinking it's boring. Your floral designer can add interest with different textures, while letterpress and calligraphy will add a chic touch to stationery.
Guests chatting, glasses clinking... the buzzy feel of a wedding reception lends itself to that modern bistro vibe with beautifully styled round tables. Why not make it your own and swap in coloured glassware or napkins?
