Winter Elopement in a BHLDN Gown

Nov 14, 2016 | Weddings

How precious are these two lovebirds? We absolutely adore elopements for their intimate nature and boundless opportunities for personalization. An incredible team of Christie Graham Photography and Best Day Ever Creative Events helped this couple turn their wintry nuptials into the elopement of their dreams...

From Best Day Ever Creative Events: "This beautiful elopement was set at Nita Lake Lodge in beautiful Whistler, British Columbia. We selected this location for its gorgeous lakeside setting, snowcapped mountains and rustic aesthetic. The ceremony played out on the snow covered dock which jutted out into the frozen lake. Afterwards, the newlyweds celebrated in their private suite where the hotel Chef had prepared a beautiful meal.

Tones of blush, navy and white with a hint of muted gold were chosen as the colour palette which is echoed across every detail from the bride’s gown to the groom’s suit details to the beautiful arrangement, bouquet and boutonniere florals designed with a loose organic feel.

Simple, rustic decor pieces were chosen to compliment the snowy, lakeside setting of the ceremony. A vintage wooden table was used to host a hot chocolate station to keep guests warm. The table was flanked by vintage snowshoes and a sled to further set the winter scene. The bride and groom were flanked by a wooden barrel and crates topped with beautiful, loose florals and a simple signing table. Guests sat on a navy upholstered ottoman, accessorized with a plaid blanket to keep them cozy.

The celebratory dinner took place in the bride & groom’s suite and featured a dark wood table and navy chairs, each with a sheepskin throw. Gold, wood grained chargers held custom, hand-written calligraphy menus with matching name cards placed in pinecones above each setting. The table was adorned with a mixture of loose, organic florals in brushed gold vessels, antlers of various shapes and sizes and mercury candle holders. Off to the side was a vintage table that held a simple white cake topped with floral buds, berries and a pinecone.

The bride looked effortlessly beautiful with her loose braid and chignon, accented with a floral hairpiece and natural fresh-faced makeup. She wore a BHLDN, two piece blush gown, paired, in select shots with a matching blush sweater. The groom looked dapper in his winter grey suit, finished with a navy tie and blush dress shirt."

The snow is amazing. I think the best photo is of her holding his face and they are both smiling. It shows the happiness they have for each other.
