Tulum: A tropical honeymoon paradise
From yes, to 'I do', to where do we go now?
So many couples dream of a tropical paradise to relax, unwind, perhaps catch a tan, and celebrate their first moments of being a married couple! Tulum has always been on our radar (any Tulum resorts want to work together? hint hint), so we were ecstatic that our friend Greg Finck shared with us a gallery of photos from a recent trip there.
Tulum is a small town in Mexico on the Caribbean coastline with beautiful beaches and stunning ancient ruins. One of the most attractive things about Tulum is that it is slightly off the beaten path with a plethora of local hidden gems and history and tropical paradise all packed into one quaint town. High-end resorts mixed with little bitty boutique hotels... everything you could ask for in a romantic getaway.
Greg visited one of Tulums great food spots, Raw Love Cafe, a vegan hut-type of cafe that is just absolutely beautiful. Healthy eats and a view to boot... this place is a must-see.
The Tulum Ruins are a sight to see. Set along the ocean (Lonely Planet sets the scene beautifully), these ruins are believed to have been there since between the 13th and 15th centuries. Wow. If you and your love are a mixture of 'Pina Coladas on the beach without a care in the world and adventure seekers looking for excitement', then you'll love adding this spectacular sight to your itinerary.
A highly recommended resort is Sanara, a luxury eco boutique in Tulum with the most remarkable grounds. Their website describes it best by saying "Sanará meaning, ‘you will heal’ in Spanish, sits on the backdrop of one of the world’s most stunning and popular beaches, looking out onto the turquoise waters of the Caribbean." You can imagine that this lovely place is on our bucket list as well.
Overall, Tulum is a stunning place and we hope to go soon. Enjoy brides and grooms to be!
