The Beauty of Rawness
Kicking off this week with a stupendously beautiful editorial from Maria Sundin Photography and Jessica Lea Design. The edgy mix of a tailored suit, crumbling walls and perfectly feminine florals from Tulipano Decor is exactly what I needed to see in my inbox this week...
From the stylist, Jessica Lea Design: "My vision for this shoot was based on the concept ‘The Beauty of Rawness’ and the ability to see beauty in its most truest and rawest form. The inspiration behind this shoot was taken from a deserted and derelict location… an abandoned fishing village dating back to the 16th Century. The crumbling coral stone walls and piles of rubble now coated in layers of orange dust and sand. A piece of forgotten history that remains in its imperfect form. I aimed to capture the raw beauty of this forgotten location throughout the design process including a muted and neutral palette which reflect all of the natural colours and tones of the space."
From the photographer, Maria Sundin Photography: "When Jessica, the stylist, told me about her ideas, I instantly knew this was going to be something special. I love the idea of bringing in heritage, especially in this part of the world where it is so rare to find. I think the rawness of the place, and the raw, unpolished beauty in the makeup-look made my job very easy. Everywhere I looked there was another corner of pretty."
