Modern Romance with a Rustic Charm
Modern wedding style doesn't have to mean ultra masculine or minimalist. I love how today's wedding inspiration from photographer Katja Scherle and stylist Cheers To Us is beautifully styled in a rustic and ethereal way but with the perfect amount of modern geometric details and elegance. Set in Germany, get ready to be inspired...
"It all began when Janissa, our planner, found this beautiful castle one hour outside of the city, in a wonderfully overgrown small village, on a Saturday trip. It hadn’t really been used for decades but then a young family moved in, slowly building it back up to its old beauty and we saw what an immense treasure we had stumbled upon. We just had to have a shoot there and two words came up instantly and stayed with us for the whole creative process: modern romance. To be honest, it’s probably not often that a building is the inspiration for a bridal shoot but this time we all fell in love the concept immediately. We wanted to keep the environments’ muted tones, that’s why we shot everything in early spring, with almost no flora around - to the amazement of the house’s owners. We can watch our lovely bride Anne getting ready and check on the reception site immediately before the ceremony. Our two settings are timeless and almost like from a fairy tale but our bride’s style is polished and modern. We even went for a minimalist feel at times, like with the sleek dress in our intimate getting ready room - or with our superbly textured stationery. But we always made sure everything still had character and texture like our bride’s quintessentially modern hair style, the spectacular floral design or the extraordinary wedding cake. Just like our castle: fallen out of time and enchanted, like watching an old movie but still a very real and contemporary inspiration for anyone looking to get married."
